How to avoid the latent fines by the Ebay system

I want to learn how to avoid the latent fines by Ebay and Paypal. How to set up a temporary leave because of illness? How to avoid the 4% fines if you long time didn't get online?

How to fully understand the latent terms of hidden fees, if we can not find the rules on the website or through the help phone line?

Usually I got this knowledge through my experience. But some terms often update and change.

Many thanks.

What is this 4% fine you speak of? Never heard of it.

I believe OP is referring to the 4% raise in FVF if he/she falls below standard because they will be offline for awhile and can't ship.

Easy, you take down all your listings. Or put your store on Vacation with all items hidden, if you have a store.

Thank you. I'm only part time, only used eBay seller account several times, per year.

I don't have a store. I don't have monthly fees.

But how to set the account "on vacation"?

how to avoid being charged for twice?

Here's a link to the fees page. This applies to non-store owners.

Thank you. I found the terms change in the emails. That was hidden in a lot of eBay different emails...

Easiest way to not get in trouble is offer no product when you're unable to ship on time.

Cancel all listings and when you get well enough to perform the required duties, relist them.

That is not because of shipping late. But the fines and charges are sometimes out of control. And no explanation is atached to the charges.

I also called to the customer service, but they also can not calculate that correctly.

What is the best way to connect with ebay CS? Do we have direct message?

Thank you. Is there a better method to do that?

The listings and records are very difficult to save, import/output, or organize.

If you don't have a store, then you won't have the vacation option. Just end all your listings until you come back. It really is as simple as that...

It sounds like you are asking how you can take a "temporary leave" from eBay and not be subject to being put Below Standard (i.e. avoiding the 4% "fine" from being below standard) due to returns and disputes while you are away and cannot get online to check.

As far as I know, you cannot avoid the consequences of returns and disputes simply by going away.

Do we have a better method, to null the listings, but keep the records?

Thanks

Ebay is given below standard fine , Ebay gets the 4% and the buyer can file negetive feedback   . me i dont think it fare to fine a seller 4% on every sale when it should only apply to the sell in question . let just say its another way for Ebay to pocket more of the sellers money ....
