I have a no return policy, customer wants to return an item they mistakenly bought. The item was shipped yesterday. I decline the return request. My question is, if they leave me negative feedback because of it, how easy will it be to get that feedback removed?

I seriously doubt it would be removed, Ebay hates unhappy buyers. Hopefully the buyer doesnt go to their cc for a chargeback.Tho you have a no return policy for remorse returns, you are within your rights to refuse the return.

My guess is that the feedback would stand.

Did they ask to cancel before you shipped?
IMO, you're putting the cart before the horse.
If it just shipped, they haven't received it yet so they can't return it (yet).
When they do receive it and request a return, I would accept the request. Buyers who are honest enough to admit remorse shouldn't be punished. They could easily lie, claim NAD and require you to accept the return.
If they do request a return (once received), you can accept, have them pay return shipping and if you charged separately for shipping, you don't have to refund that.
EDIT: Sorry, I didn't answer your feedback question, but feedback may not even be an issue if you follow my suggestions.

@volteratek
So your buyer filed a "return request" for something they don't even have?

The item didn’t get to the buyer yet. I declined the request because the item was significantly cheaper than what you’d find on the open market. It was very heavy and difficult to ship and I had to pay $24 to ship it. I usually always accept returns or refund but this one just doesn't feel right. It’s from an account that was just made. And although I know that fact matters less; it doesn’t feel right as a seller to accept their request just because it was a mistake on their end. And I have before, but the item hasn’t even arrived yet.

Correct; said they bought it mistakenly.

You should of just cancelled the sale and moved on. Now you have to wait to see if it does get returned. If you get the dreaded negative feedback. Wait to find out if returned, will the item be returned in the same condition? Wonder if there will be a CC charge back in the months ahead.
I don't understand why anyone would not just cancel if the item was not shipped out. Yes it can be a bummer and sometimes it does not seem fair. Do a search on these boards in regards to no returns policy. There are volumes of posts explaining the reality of it.
-Good luck

Now that you declined their request, they can easily lie and claim a NAD return and you'll have to accept the return and pay return shipping!
I don't think you handled it properly.

Idk if there’s a miscommunication somewhere but the post literally says it was shipped yesterday. The item was shipped before the buyer requested the return. The item is not in my possession. USPS has it. Of course I would have canceled if I still had it but no it is already shipped it has been shipped for a day now. Did you even read any of the thread?

Chevymontecarlo88 I believe OP said the item had already shipped when they got the request to cancel. It just hadn’t arrived at the buyer’s location yet. So I believe OP should NOT cancel until they receive the item back.

@volteratek THIS> "The item was shipped before the buyer requested the return. The item is not in my possession. USPS has it."
you did not post the above statement in your OP, so we had no way of knowing 'when' the purchase was made in conjunction with the ship out date.
So @chevymontecarlo88 based their post on not having the complete info that u later posted.
Feedback removal is based partly on what is written so all u can do now is wait and see

Can buyers even open return requests before tracking shows delivery?
@volteratek
Did the buyer open an official return request through the order? Or did they just ask to return it once they receive?

Dude it literally says the item was shipped yesterday in the first post. No shipping service ships out on Sunday so how would it be to my buyer by now? That makes no sense.

yes Dude, u said u shipped it out yesterday, but how are we to know 'when' the buyer made the request? it could have been friday and then u went ahead and shipped on saturday.
