I have seen an influx of offers either giving themselves 60% off or better or what really annoys me asking for $2 off on something that is already priced at 9.98 and all the other sets on eBay are $13.-$26? It a cheap wooden Domino set, .. happens to be very good condition and comes with original box and instructions. I wrote a polite No. and spoke to the condition compared to what is already offered on eBay.. but want to say.. "Really? $3 bucks. Good Grief, It's cheaper for me to toss it." LOL If I had the item for a year, I would consider taking it or making an counter offer. Yeah, I know I sound like an old man at the end of an antique show at packing time. Just wondering how anyone else deals with it.

I always reply. If I am declining their offer I will just tell them in the notes that $___ is the least I will accept.

I once got an offer of $5 for a $50 item, which I declined. The potential buyer was also a seller, so I offered her $5 for a $100 item.

When somebody lowballs me to a ridiculous and unrealistic price point I'll just reply with double the regular price.
Buyer: I'll give you $40 for that $450 item
Me: Just for you, I can do $900
Usually ends the **bleep** right away.

I know this is an old post, but that was funny and brilliant. I get a lot of lowballers messaging me to give them half off an item that is already the cheapest on ebay and they are resellers.

Your message is over a year old; however, have to ask: You do know you can ignore any of those messages if you wish, right?

There is nothing offensive about a buyer potentially educating a seller on an item’s market value. I don’t do it, but there are plenty of established sellers that don’t price at realistic levels. Some of those sellers come here to complain about slow sales 🙂

How do you handle buyers that send messages and low ball an offer for a Buy it Now?
I tell them no or ignore them.
Depends on my mood.

Last week, I just had some joker offer me $60 for an item I was trying to sell for $110. The item had been listed for a couple of years. So even though I was already the cheapest by $40, I decided to honor his request and sent him his $60 offer through a replay message. 1 week later and no response back from him.
I actually lost my temper and let him have it before blocking him. I showed plenty of restraint and stuck most closer to the point than rude. I let him know that he's the 4th seller to do that to me and that he'd soon be joining them on my blocked list. I also ended my e-mail wishing him luck in finding those pieces that cheap elsewhere. Why knows if I will end up with some sort of a warning or a ding for my unprofessional tone, but I really don't make enough sales anymore to care.
Who do people think they are to think it's okay to insult a seller with a lowball offer request and then totally ignore them and disappear when they accept? I expect those aggravations on the FB marketplace, but Ebay buyers are getting just as bad. Society is getting ridiculous.
And another recent annoyance was someone asking me if a projection bulb I was selling "worked"! When I let her know that it was leftover inventory NOS from a camera store that recently closed, and I have had a 100% satisfactory rate with the other bulbs that I've sold from that inventory over the past 2 years, I never heard back. Now why would I even try to sell a non-working item for $6? It would not be worth it.
Also, for a used 1961 Sylvania AM radio that I've been trying to sell for over a year, I also had someone come along and ask it if worked. Why woudln't it if that's what it says in my description? More recently, another person come along and ask what color it is when the pictures clearly show it is tan. I'm astounded it still hasn't sold, especialy since I'm not asking much for it at all.
People keep getting dumber by the year and I'm getting fed up as an online seller.

Ebay customers have it Embedded in their minds to get the item as cheap as possible & have it shipped for free, This is something Ebay encourages with no thought to the seller, It is up to you to manage your sales & profit as you see fit!
