How can I disable the irritating "Add recommended item specifics" to listings?

This has happened with every recent listing: My listing is fine. I don't need or want to add more information. Yet each listing is sorted into a category called "Add recommended item specifics." No matter how much I add, I cannot get eBay to re-sort it into my normal listings, so I have divided sections instead of one fluid listing, and each of the separate sections is asking me to add more, unnecessary details.

Bug, or feature? If the latter, any idea how I can get robo-eBay to stop demanding more details I don't care to add?

Thanks!

I agreed to try that new feature on my smaller clearance store selling account and found it very cumbersome, and when answering the survey about it, said so and why (same problem you had, plus many of the recommended IS's weren't relevant to my listings).  They DID read my survey and contacted me to ascertain which ID I was using.  IAC, it had been in the mobile app and is now on the web app under that ID. I thought it was still in beta so maybe you can opt out?

I absolutely HATE this feature. It’s broken. When you sell a similar listing so that you can use some of the things you need in your listing such as basic info it will add in all of this terrible info that we have to unselect every time. eBay needs to fix their terrible app instead of changing things that are unnecessary.

I agree, just one reason I have just wholesaled many of my cameras rather than go the eBay way.    I mainly list cameras from my collection and always give very SPECIFIC details of these intricate devices in the description.    Many others now just put in description "condition is  used" and that is it.     Nothing about how well, or not, the camera is working.   The description is where they should be policing SPECIFICS not the lame "specifics" fill in form eBay is talking about.

Sucks doesn't even begin to describe this feature. It is so irritating.

LET’S IGNORE THIS! I DO NOT THINK THEY WII FORCE IT ON US. SOONER OR LATER THEY SHOULD REALIZE HOW STUPID THIS NEW “REQUIREMENT” IS.

It's really awful. I keep see "add reoommended," I go to figure out what it is, and I either already have the feature listed, OR it makes no sense. eBay "improving" again.

Re: How can I disable the irritating "Add recommended item specifics" to listings?

They really just need to let us opt out... Or maybe put a little X near it to make getting rid of it a bit less of a pain. Shouldn't be very hard I have no idea why they choose to force it. I didn't add item specifics before someone bid on one of my auctions so after they bid I could not change the item specifics. This made it impossible to get rid of the recommendation button (go figure).

Super annoying.

Re: How can I disable the irritating "Add recommended item specifics" to listings?

If you don't want to fill out specifics, then don't. The very reason they are put there, is to make your listing visible in search, and allow it to be seen/found in filtered searches. It also makes it viewable to search engines. If it's too much work, just ignore it.

But then again, how many of the people complaining about this, are also the ones making/answering threads about slow sales?

Many of you may think this stuff is non sensicle. Sometimes what you don't know, can hurt you (and your sales).

Re: How can I disable the irritating "Add recommended item specifics" to listings?

As is the "research prices" feature.  Totally broken and irrelevant.  By the time I am ready to create a listing, I have already done all of the research on any given product.  Along comes this little added area to my listing that states I am within range of a target price or wildly differing from it.  Do a little more research in this added area, and you'll find that none of the metrics they are using contain anything similar to your item.

Q: How can I disable the irritating "Add recommended item specifics" to listings?

A: Add the recommened item specifics, it literally takes seconds.

EBay does this for a purpose,  to increase your sales and their revenue.  It matters in searching which is usually how buyers find listings.
