The reason ebay gave to extend the time was covid and the restrictions.
They aren't a factor anymore.
Three weeks is incredibly way too long.
I should note ebay requires sellers to respond to returns in a few days, not three weeks. Also noting that once a return is received sellers only have 1-2 days to deal with a refund even if there's an issue.
Buyers are the one who request a return, how about then not letting them have the item they don't want another 3 weeks, and instead have them get it in themail in a timely manner that ebay has decided is a reasonable timeframe for sellers. 4 days. Go back to the 4 days that existed before covid.

I'm curious what happened there @robbie31415 . Policy is 2 biz days so if someone at eBay CS erroneously escalated on behalf of the buyer then you should appeal the unresolved case defect.

Yeah For FBA it's different since it's actually them.
FBM the request stays open for 50 days.
It's literally a snore fest. The one I showed you has 5 days until it will close, they havent retuened it yet.
I don't use FBA unless i have a lot of stock cuz I got it cross listed on Walmart and eBay and MCF is expensive.
Id say their FBM side is more comparable to eBay than the FBA side.

There system doesn't seem to calculate based on business days and this notification says 2 days not business days.
However the actual issue was resolved. It wasn't very recent. Just an annoying thing however their system seems to still tell me days.
Edit. Now that I think about it i might be seeing a difference because of working days including Saturday. However our hours are for shipping not receiving and we aren't opened during delivery hours. 😞

No offense, but many times people here have said in other issues, ebay isn't amazon.
Ebay isn't Amazon. Ebay also isn't Walmart, but thats what they're doing to sellers.

You might want to tell eBay that.
With both of those marketplaces being so large, eBay will slowly evolve to be similar. This isn't the eBay that it was.
Now target+ marketplace starting to pop off.
Ebay is going to become increasingly irrelevant.
The only marketplace I'd really say is different is Etsy.

Pre-covid @rugerskick buyers already had 3 weeks i.e. 15 business days to get their return in themail.
Then during the pandemic the timeframe was raised so that buyers had 21 business days to mail their return, and sellers had 5 business days to refund after the mail carrier signed for the delivery themselves.
And now it's again 15 business days to mail and 2 business days to refund -- finally reducing the time to return an item back to the pre-covid timeframe.

It would be nice but never going to happen. Had a return sent back to me and the buyer had it pushing 7 weeks before it was shipped back. Purchase was made in August, didn't get item back until last week. 5 business days is plenty of time. Of course I believe returns should only be 5 business days as well instead of 30.

It's not just eBay. A lot of on line retailers still have their Covid order limits in place. Hard to get stuff like that ever removed.
