Re: High fees

Sure, but much depends on what amount you have invested in your items for sale.  Are you saying you made no profit on the items you just sold?

Re: High fees

Fees aren't the difficult part. The fees haven't changed much in the last 10 years. Shipping, on the other hand, has tripled since then. And finding sellable items cheap has become so much harder compared to years ago.

Re: High fees

Shipping costs are murder today along with the tax collection is putting a squeeze on sellers.  In person flea-markets too have raised their prices.

"With Ebay fees so high how can anyone make a profit?"

The first of your Sold items was a pair of women's pajamas that sold for $60.00 with free shipping.  That seems to me to be a very high price, but I am not familiar with that brand of pajamas.  Maybe they are  worth $60.00.

Comparing that sale to your one current listing of a pair of men's fleece sleep-pants, I think you might possibly see a better rate of return if/when that item sells.  You might be able to send those pants in a large bubble-wrap-lined envelope.

Assuming you did ship those jammies with the service your listing said you would, via Expedited Shipping (USPS Priority Mail), that's a high-priced shipping method.  Again, I don't know the size and weight of the packaging you used BUT it seems to me that you could have saved a significant amount of money by shipping at the lower USPS Ground Advantage price.  (BTW, USPS First Class doesn't really exist anymore.)

Also -- listing your items with eBay's calculated shipping prices will cost both you and your buyer less.  eBay offers shipping prices that are lower than your local post office's retail prices that you have to pay at the counter.   Calculated shipping is also fairer, in a sense.  I see you're in Fort Lauderdale.  The Postal Service's zone pricing adjusts the cost of postage due to the distance the package has to travel.  Somebody in Myrtle Beach, SC, will pay less for postage than I would, in San Diego, CA.

I would imagine you would only try to put pajamas on a cat once. The blood loss is not worth it.

The tax is paid by the buyer.

And the shipping costs should be paid by the buyer too.

Gotta admit... on this PJ pattern, the blood drops would just look like more holly berries. But def not worth it. 🚑

Re: High fees

The state sales tax is paid by the buyer, not the seller.  And ANY buyer who pays state sales tax on his WalMart purchases, his auto purchases or his CVS purchases will know that his eBay purchases will be taxed also.

Re: High fees

Evidently there are quite a few eBay sellers who are doing so.
