Here is how to report price gouging

According to eBay staff posts on these community discussion boards, that is not the proper way to report item listings that violate the latest virus-related policies.

This is the proper way to report these. Reports will be viewed much more quickly if they are reported the way eBay staff has instructed:

Here is how to report price gouging

so, this thing has been in effect since the 13th March - we were declared to be in an official National State of Emergency for over a week and they still haven't implemented a basic word elimination programming to disallow key words such as CHARMIN, TISSUE, NORTHERN?

As you noted, you KEEP FLAGGING and they KEEP TAKING DOWN... but more often I'm seeing that the listing just ended and that was a necessary item that wasn't available to a person that needed it and couldn't afford to pay $100 for cost and shipping for an item that is not supposed to be hoarded and has had limits placed on it - by state in nearly every state in the nation. Where the state laws don't cover this illegal activity, the federal state of emergency that was put into place on the 13th, over a week ago, does.

I just received this bizarre, esoteric response from somebody attempting to utilize Eastern Philosophies to justify EBay's failure to take an active, no, PRO-active stance against illegal and unethical activity on their site - and they don't seem to understand that as long as this keeps happening, those that need these items and can't afford these illegal pricing tactics aren't only going without, but these people are having to literally GO OUT AND RISK THEIR LIVES in an attempt to get these items that people continue to filch and sell illegally on EBay - does EBay not care that they are forcing people out into potentially fatal situations just to get items that are being striped from shelves by a few so they can reap these unbelievable profits?

So, when I go out tomorrow, in an attempt to get some TP, and I catch C-19 and I'm hospitalized - if I were to live (since I'm considered a person that is "at risk") what is EBay's response to that when I lose the ability to properly breath just so a few profiteers can rake in those nickels - and I include EBay in on that list of PROFITEERS...

I do know that I've been documenting images and prices that items have sold for - along with reporting those items right before they sell for prices that only a very few can afford.

Yes, I continue to be a "good" and "cooperative" ebay user, but I don't see how EBAY IS HELPING when they have the ability to screen out key words so that those listings simply aren't allowed...

It leaves me baffled - why aren't we being paid for flagging all of these listings?  So many people are out of work and need money - maybe there should be some type of incentive tacked on to every account of a person that flags illegal postings?  a free listing credit of some sort? I just don't see this multi-billion dollar corporation concerned, contributing or taking any PRO-active action and it is very stultifying.

Shame on EBay

Oh, I'm sorry, "just because Ebay hasn't said YES, it doesn't mean that they've said NO..." or some sort of hokey pokey nonsense about ebay's lack of corporate responsibility and profiteering in a national state of emergency.

I've just found out, too, according to your post, that all of those posts I've been flagging weren't quite right and are now probably going to be ignored.  It would be so much simpler if they just plugged in a few keywords and banned the selling of illegal items.

Cut and paste some of what I've authored, I don't care - just post a paragraph about it, update your rules to specify that EBay is now going legal and are going to be cancelling accounts for gouging, which will greatly eliminate the hoarding so that we can all minimize trekking outdoors in an attempt to get necessities.

oh, yes, and regardless of a few claiming that EBay is removing the posts, they actually are NOT. They are allowing MORE to be posted and existing ones to close out. It has now even spread to selling food products, which now means shortages in foods...

Here is how to report price gouging

The only problem is for example, I see one seller, with price gouging in multiple items, it would take a long time to report each item.  Is there a way to just report the seller for price gouging.  All of the auctions for some sellers are gouged listings.

This feature is not working on many items today. I tried using the eBay app and then switched to a browser to make sure it wasn’t just an app glitch and it just wasn’t working. I sent a general email to eBay I hope someone sees it and takes down the listing. $1000 for a face visor!!

Nevermind Removing listings,EBAY needs to start banning seller's account .I have personally reported several of a seller listings and they are promptly removed within minutes, and a day or two later he/she relists the same item for the same outrageous pricing. $100 for 1 can of lysol plus $30 dollars for shipping?!?!

So where do we draw the line between price gouging and supply and demand. I'm starting to feel like there's a lot of jealous bunch out there. I'm positive there are people gouging as well.

But as a true dealer of goods you need to allow price discovery.

There's a lot of odd things going on right now. A mish mash of opinions and emotions.

I’ve noticed sellers are now using shipping as a way to price gouge. Say they post the item for $10 but then put $50 for shipping.  Clearly, an aerosol can of disinfectant will not cost $50 for shipping. Can these listings still be taken down?
