Has anyone at all had a Bump in Sales or Happy since the Implementation of GTC?

Just a quick question for everyone out there.   Has anyone had an increase of Sales since the Implementation of GTC?   If you have seen a decrease please mention it here.

Cheers everyone!

I totally agree - I have had sales on another venue but Ebay is dead. I did okay until they started this GTC mess. And many I think were going to end listing day before it rolled and relist for visibility. I think Ebay got slick to that. New listings (even new relists) used to say new listing if you looked at the items. That is GONE now. I put 3 brand new listings up last night and the new listing verbage is not there anymore. SO I am thinking that relisting before it rolls GTC will not help.I used to do 10 day listings. People sold - Ebay should be happy - but people are NOT selling now from what I hear.

I would have gone ballistic if they had told me everyone loves it. They also said 80% of people already used GTC which is **bleep**.

@punkparrots   As posted on some other threads, I am giving it 3 months Apr-Jun (unless of course they rescind it) before passing judgement.  From Jan thru Mar the split is 54% Auctions and 46% Fixed Price listings ... will have to see if the Fixed Price GTC % stays constant, increases or decreases.

I will report and early success today, one hour after putting a group of items up GTC I sold one to a State I never sold to before ... here was my reaction:

Terrible, had to move all my items to two other sites just to make sales, can't offer any type of variety in listings when limited to 50 and when they say you can list 100 more - its just to get you over the monthly limit since you cannot list just a 30 day anymore, according to their tracking that they have provided me on the new system I'm down 56% since last week.

Yeah, it's really bad when you go three entire weeks without a sale, as I have, and I honestly do NOT see things changing. Once eBay makes disastrous changes like this GTC fiasco, and then realize that it was a huge mistake, STILL, they would rarely EVER go back to the way things were, because then, the higher-ups would have to admit their mistake, and they're NOT going to do that.

*Sheesh*...I seriously thought about ending my eBay Store on March 31st, but eBay said that if I DID, I would be hit with a hefty 'Early Termination Penalty', for doing so. So NOW, seven days into this new month, and 21 days since I've made a sale, AND after only using 12 of my 250 listings for this month, so far, I'm thinking that I should have just gone ahead and JUMPED this sinking ship, Early Termination Penalty, or not!

I have had 3 small sales this month, about 15 bucks, They are from my 235 left over listing from 30 days not the GTC, As they fall off I am just deleting them.. I wont use GTC . And the last time I tried auction, I listed 100 auctions picked up a few watchers and NO Sales at all...

Re: Has anyone at all had a Bump in Sales or Happy since the Implementation of GTC?

It is just in a long line of changes eBay has made which has crippled my business, my sales are down 75% over last 6 months, have now had to drop prices just to try and get my money back on my stock , I will make no profit from the sales and just to clear stock, my business was only small but I worked hard to make sure it was a good honest business, I jumped through hoops to become a top seller and to keep my feedback at 100% by providing an excellent buying experience and top quality products as well as amazing customer service just to earn the right to get nearer the top and get some discounts on the fees but it counted for nothing, a year ago I invested every penny I had to build my eBay account and now all gone and I have lost everything, not that I had a lot to start with but I was trying and the money was compensation I received after an attack and could not work any longer due to ptsd and for someone who has always had her own business that was hard, eBay seemed the perfect thing to keep me busy and to be able to pay my own way as well as work from home where I felt safe, now all gone, I cannot afford to buy any more stock and keep something going which is going nowhere, eBay has pushed out all the small independent sellers in favour of large profit volume sellers and it seems to not matter that they have bad feedback, sell absolute **bleep** or are even in the UK as so many now claim they are in UK and obviously are not , a practice the Chinese and their endless poor quality items seem to get them to the top of any listings, I have called eBay many times and they are not bothered about people and say they do not manipulate listings in favour of high profits, you get nowhere with them and never will because it is not about us, they do not care about us, the little people, they have no moral code so wasting your time, I am finishing my eBay now, I am having to start looking for cheaper accommodation as I am struggling to afford my small 2 bed cottage which is not in the least posh at all or even a high rent, it is quiet and rural which I have needed to recover, I am trying to think of other things to do as I cannot go out to work due to anxiety however I have now no more money to invest, my story is only one of many I’m sure, it is the reality and it is the real face of ebays actions , the truth behind their pound sign eyes , well done them , i hope they are proud what. They have done to the little people, they promised us the world and then snatched it away just when we thought we were getting a good little business off the mark.

im done, they have bled me dry, they are having no more, once my items are sold off I will never trade on eBay again or buy for that matter and the reason for that is simple as a buyer I am frustrated in not finding what I really want to buy on the first few pages and sick of having to see sellers which should not be there in first place.

Re: Has anyone at all had a Bump in Sales or Happy since the Implementation of GTC?

To paulanjay:

Yes, there's just NO "sense of urgency" any more, for buyers to go ahead and buy any particular item, when ALL of our listings virtually NEVER end! Previously, when I would put an item on a 3-day listing, buyers would see that the item was just about to end soon, and eBay would even LET THEM KNOW, via an "ending soon!" message, that a particular item they had been watching was just about to close, and that "might" have compelled them to hurry up and GET it, if they're going to, before it's gone! OR, before someone ELSE beats them to it. But, NOW, watched items just seem to lay around on buyers' watch lists forever, essentially lost and forgotten about. I, myself, realized that I had several items on my OWN watch list, items which I HAD been interested in, perhaps weeks and weeks ago, but had forgotten about them, because eBay never bothered to remind me of listings which were potentially ending soon. So now, weeks later, I did go ahead and buy a couple of items, after all, but as for the rest, I removed them from my watch list. The point is, that wasn't fair to those sellers who thought that they had potential buyers who were "still" watching their items, even weeks later, and I do feel badly about that. As it is, most of my OWN current listings have a "smattering" of watchers, but I know that it's probably just a few stray buyers who "had" been watching those items, but for who knows how long ago? And will probably never return, and actually buy? 'Cause, they certainly won't get any reminder notices from eBay, letting them know that their watched items, items they "had" been interested in days, weeks or months ago, are about to run out;...because, they never do! ..As I say, no "sense of urgency".. and, in the meantime, I'm 22 days into this GTC fiasco, with absolutely NO sales, and absolutely NO hope, that things will get better...they won't.  confounded

My sales have dropped off really bad the more we get into the new GTC policy period.

In the beginning it was the same, but now...it's horrible !

NO TO THE FORCED GTC WE ARE HAVING TO DEAL WITH !

Re: Has anyone at all had a Bump in Sales or Happy since the Implementation of GTC?

Yep...22 days into this GTC **BLEEP**, and 23 days since my last sale, and absolutely NO hopes that things will get better...they won't. It's been so miserable, that I have ZERO motivation to compose and post any NEW listings, EITHER, in spite of the fact that I am sitting on many thousands of dollars' worth of inventory that I can't sell. I knew I should have ended my eBay Store on March 31st, the Store which I am paying $21.95 per month for on an annual subscription, AND for which I am getting NO use out of, BUT, each of the three times I called eBay about this GTC fiasco, they said I WOULD be socked with a hefty 'Early Termination Penalty', if I tried to get out from under this mess...and, NO, contrary to what others are posting on here, the eBay reps that I talked to, said that I would NOT be let out of my Store subscription, without paying a termination penalty/fee. So, anyway, I stayed on;...at least, for now. But, April 30th, three weeks from now,  is looking like the final, last straw for me, Early Termination Penalty, or not!  Smiley Mad

I've been using GTC for years, and I wouldn't want to be without it. My sales are steady. But I do believe it ought to be optional.

Same old same old for me.  No rhyme or reason as always.  One item sold minutes after listing, another was about to end with no nibbles then I got a very good offer, I "reintroduced" an item I had pulled for lack of interest and it got lots of interest this time around and finally sold very quickly and an FP that sat forever finally sold at auction.

NO. And why is it up to Ebay to decide this?  Very frustrating!
