Harassment issue

I have a listing that is the same as an item another seller has listed.  They are sending me harassing messages because my listing has a lower start price and they claim that I am causing the value of their item to be low.  I have found no way to report this.  Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks!

Add them to your blocked buyers list and then go into settings and turn on the option to block messages from blocked buyers.

Do exactly as the first responder said.  Don't even reply to this seller. It is your right to start an auction at any price you want.

What Settings?  I looked in Communication preferences and can't find it.  Can you be a bit more specific or give a link where to block messages from blocked buyers.

Thank you.

@drusalina  My understanding of how the BBL list works is once a member is on the list they can not message you on any new items BUT if they have already messaged or purchased on one they can still communicate with you on that one ONLY, BUT they cannot purchase on THAT one or any others.

@colleen8  Sorry this has happened:

1. Add them to your Blocked list.  They will still be able to message on THAT item but can not purchase it.  They will NOT be able to message you on any other items you sell nor purchase them.

2. If you do this just ignore their messages, resist the temptation to read them and delete them unread.

3. Keep an eye out for a new Buyer who purchases that item ... (0) Feedback ... if this happens call eBay and ask specifically for the Trust & Safety Department and ask if the two IDs are "associated", if so then report that member for trying to circumvent a block which is against eBay Policy. (low probability that this will happen but truth is stranger the fiction)

4. Here's the thing ... once yours sells then they have no issues with you any more and maybe there's will be the next in line.  People who absolutely want something are apt to simply buy it regardless of price.

5. We often get sales and are not the lowest priced item on the site.

Messages?  Plural?

More than one?

You're not allowed to copy and paste them here,

but are they merely complaining?

Trying to give you a guilt trip

Or threatening you?

Put them on your Blocked list as stated earlier.

Do Not respond to them.

Return here each time you get a further message.

Let us know what happens (good or bad) when your auction ends.

There are two separate blocks.  Just putting someone on the BBL doesn't block communication; there is a separate block for that.

If they have bought something from you recently, the communication block won't work.  But it should sometime down the road.

You can set the price at wherever you want to.

Don't engage, it is best to ignore some people.  They can't and won't accept that they are wrong so don't waste your time or energy.

YES you can Block someone, Just go to my ebay, account, site preferences, selling preferences, buyer requirements, edit, then scroll down and select the box that says "Don't allow blocked buyers to contact me. (Buyer will not see the "Contact Seller" button on your Q&A page.)

No offense, mr lincoln, you probably don't use both blocks much, maybe just the BBL.

A lot of people tend to think that putting someone on the BBl blocks communication, too, but it does not.
