So i got a case opened that buyer didn't recognize the purchase. I told ebay and they said challenge it. So i did. Well I contacted the buyer who left positive feedback and bought previously. He said Im sorry but I have no idea what you mean because I never opened any type of case. It was only in my messages not on seller hub. I sent him the info from my messages and we both are confused. Of course ebay reps can't or won't help and buyer and I are confused. Has anyone ever heard of this? Since I am not getting any help from ebay.

Looks like a fascinating mystery. Could you take a screenshot of the message (be sure to blur or scribble out the buyer's name if it's in the frame).

I would contact ebay support by phone as soon as possible. The hold times seem to vary, but I have had mostly positive experiences dealing with their representatives- especially if there is a digital trail of messages that correlate your claims.

Possibly not from eBay? Maybe a scam attempt?

It's possible that a buyer who queries a different transaction, not even one on eBay, will ending up triggering challenges from his card provider for all the transactions within that time period: a day, a week, even a month.
My Discover card was compromised many years ago and they were offering to dispute the whole current month for me, except that I was able to identify all the other purchases that had occurred, leaving just one to be reversed. Maybe your buyer was filing a dispute on something else and his provider decided to widen the scope.

Here is copy and paste from ebay chat just now...
I understand that you are just worried about your funds. As a seller myself, I know exactly how you feel. Upon checking here, the dispute is still under review by the buyer's financial institution because they also need to have a fair resolution. Here’s what we can guarantee regarding your situation — since a charge back has been initiated already — once they contacted eBay for validation — all relevant information pertaining to this transaction would be provided to them. Hence, eBay and the bank will work hand in hand in resolving this. per ebay agent
no help same exact **bleep** as last night
Been doing chats so I have a transcript and record of what they say

Just posted part of the ebay agents response above even though the buyer clearly states they did not do this. It is in my ebay messages from the buyer

They just disconnected when I said no its not resolved

I guess my major issue is that they don't resolve anything which I have had problems past few months and been doing the chats for proof. When I mention they read from script by saying hi, you been here so many years, etc.
Then you tell them problem, they give some **bleep** answer and then disconnect because they can't help you

all you should have to do is to respond with the tracking # (the one eBay already has)
you should be covered with no further action required on your part.
you should be covered by eBay seller protection as long as you shipped to the address provided, and there is proof of delivery.
CCC will often find in favor of the buyer, but eBay should eat any fees, and refunds.
It could take 1-2 months to be "resolved" by the CCC
