 Received message wanting our paypal account number; responded that we don't have pp account & haven"t heard back.  This buyer has nearly 50 positive reviews .... what's the deal here?

It's a scammer @kitay55 . Never take communication off eBay.

Report the buyer's message asking for off eBay communication, block the buyer, and if they actually committed to the purchase then follow the unpaid item cancellation process.

The more reports the more removal, regardless if they make new accounts.

Always keep everything on eBay, never give out personal information.  Paypal customers pay to eBays PayPal account now, so there is no need for sellers to even have one or provide that type of information.

Most common scam on ebay. Do a search for " paypal scam" or "gift card scam" here and you'll see tons of threads talking about them and the details of the scam.

Its a scam.  Do not do it.  Report them to ebay fraud and security.  Seriously demand they get kicked off the site.

It is a 100% GUARANTEED Fraud. There is NO reason for them to do this. Not a legit reason anyway. I can guarantee you that they are trying to steal your money or your product or maybe both.

NEVER take ANY part of an Ebay transaction Off Ebay. Not only is it a serious breach of the Ebay rules and can lead to you losing the privilege of selling on the site, but the ONLY reason a buyer would want to do this is to STEAL from you. There is NO upside to this for you at all.

Your response to them should just be a simple one.

All communication and payments will be handled on the Ebay site only. There is no legitimate reason to do otherwise.

Report the buyer.  You can do that right from the message they sent you in Ebay.

I gladly give them my paypal email address and ask them to send me money.

For some reason they never do and it seems to scare them away.

Is it from the buyer today of that $5000 painting? Scam..being a newbie selling a pricey item you are a sitting duck for scammers, be very careful.

P.S. You cannot ship that big painting for $8.40!!

Well, we have tried numerous times to get guidance or advice and find no help from EBay.  We were referred to go this route by a reputable auction house.  It's beyond frustrating!!

Thanks for at least responding tho' I sense you are somehow faulting us.  You may be right but it's definitely not intentional!!
