On the 11th I got an MC011 restriction and an email asking to upload all the proof of deliveries. I have literally hundreds. I have been an eBay member for about 24 years but recently started a side business in my retirement. I buy liquidations of Philips Hue and other automation gear and was selling it on eBay. I enjoy a 100% rating and my customers seem satisfied and happy. No real issues.
I am guessing that the rapid increase in sales has triggered this action - I normally would sell something only occasionally but as I mentioned I am starting a side business. I think that it is completely reasonable to investigate a rapid increase in sales as that could be a flag for an account take over or other scam. But in my case, it was just success for my new business.
Someone from eBay could have just inquired and I would provide whatever documents or information they might require to verify my legitimacy, however, instead, they restricted my account, cancelled all my listings and froze payments to me. I have reached out multiple times via chat and phone to try to get to the bottom of this but no one returns my calls or answers my questions.
In the meantime, I have purchased additional liquidations and now have no where to sell them. Worse, I have repeat customers on eBay that want to purchase.
This process is clearly broken and I do not know how to make progress in getting it resolved. Any ideas?

This world and everything in it doesn't have to make ANY sense. Do as suggested or flounder going nowhere. It's the prerogative of everyone; but only the ones that are willing to listen will succeed.
Wise words, and life is a lot easier when one stops thinking that *everything* has to make sense in their own eyes. Sometimes you've got to suspend belief and just go with it.
Good luck! And also @mutanthippo - you don't have 'nowhere to sell' - there are other options (and I wish eBay would remember this). Good luck getting back going on here, though!

@dutchman8789 I have read that any direct phone numbers to eBay customer service are all potential scams.

Make a throw away account and use that. I think Twitter has a ebay page as well but I have never used it.
The twitter eBayforbusiness page is DEAD!!! (maybe they have another newer one but I've looked and could not find).
Checking on this. Just sent them a DM.
Last issue I had that we could not completely figure out here was Dec, 19th 2021. That was the last time I DM'd them

Just verified. Still active. Have to use Direct Messages to twitter.com/askebay
No problem at all it sure is!
Have a great day and thank you for contacting eBay!

I reached out to Ebay on FaceBook and they basically said I have to wait to get follow up email from the special team. I have uploaded proof of delivery to the email address (although I did get a response saying that address does not accept mail) and all my tracking is already on eBay since all my orders are shipped there. So, proof of delivery is there.
I am hoping that the team in charge of this took the holiday weekend off and I will hear something tomorrow.
In a strange way, the enforced vacation from selling is healthy 🙂

As you said, perfectly reasonable.

They did ask you for documentation. There are 20 million sellers on eBay, and they are not going to hand-select sellers and call they. They are going to have a computer algorithm do it.

Well, the email notice was poorly written, did not contain specific information and while it did ask for proof of deliveries (which they already have) I submitted those and got no acknowledgment of submission nor follow-up and to make it worse I got an auto-reply saying that mailbox does not accept mail.
I understand the algorithm and bots make the first call but good customer service would have some way to communicate to straighten out any issues. The "slap them in jail and ask questions later "policy seems to be not only unfriendly, but overly aggressive. I doubt the "proof of delivery" is the issue since all was shipped via eBay and I have no customer issues and a 100% feedback.

Here's a bit of an update....after chatting up FaceBook, Twitter etc. I called eBay today and told them that I had submitted everything but that I got a "mail not accepted" notice. The rep gave me a link for a place to upload docs and asked for some new stuff (i.e. driver's license, invoices) which I promptly uploaded. Now we will see if I actually get it resolved.

Purely speculating here: eBay is running the bots and they have say, 25k flagged accounts. Perhaps eBay has 3-4 team members in that department working these cases.
EBay knows there is a backlog of cases. They won't slow the bots and are not overly concerned about the sellers.
Hope to hear you get some resolution.

Tinfoil hat says what?
Is it your internet provider's business? Is it your cell service provider's business?

Here is a bit of an update. After trying every avenue for communication and finally getting a link to upload information, the end result was a lack of communication and my account banned. Normally, if I heard someone’s account was banned I would assume they did something severe that was unethical or against eBay rules. But that did not apply to me. My account has been active for 24 years and has a 100% rating with rave reviews, no disputes, etc.
None of that mattered, I was unable to find out why my account was restricted, what I possibly could have done wrong but arbitrarily, unfairly and rudely dismissed as not being worthy of eBay.
So, i have moved on and will find other avenues to sell my goods. It is a shame and it is wrong but nothing i can do about it.

Pure speculation on my part, but is it perhaps the Philips company that is complaining about your sales?
I've seen and heard of big brand names with toothy attorneys taking exception with eBay sellers products (genuine or counterfeit) and getting them delisted/deplatformed so they stop cutting into retail sales.

Sir the same things just happened to me and we are selling the same exact products, i think Hue or Best buy got angry and said or did something... i hope your still active so we can talk
