Hi. A buyer just opened a dispute saying he didn’t authorize tye transaction, the item was just mailed out. I replied challenging with the tracking number.

now it says my funds will be held.

i messaged the buyer to ask what is happening, he answered.. “My fault, sorry, on the phone now trying to fix” . I don’t know more details.

so , how long should I wait for the case to close in my favor? Or should I call ebay tomorrow to discuss?

See, to me that would not be very clear.

First because I would be unlikely to recognize the seller's ID- which is not separated in any case.

Second because it says Paypal not eBay. The first being slightly more clear than the second. *

Third because I think of my purchase as being $12.99 not $12.99 +sales tax of 13%+ shipping of $3.75 = $18.42. Even though I know that there would have been tax and shipping.

*I'd also be puzzled by any mention of Paypal if I had paid directly with my card and did not have a PP account.

yeah maybe he really forgot about the purchase, or confused it with something else, but the strangest part is that this happened after only 24 hours.

so it's even weirder,

okay so I am waiting for the item to get delivered, hopefully then the case gets closed.

Just had a buyer open a case saying the item wasn't delivered but tracking shows that it was delivered and yet eBay still puts my money on hold-no seller protection.

I'd at least call eBay and see what kind of answer I'd get first hand and right instead of waiting. My attitude is, if eBay, PayPal, whoever the heck says the payment was approved and item is OK to ship.. and I ship the item... it's no longer my problem.

With MP, now ANY dispute that is opened, eBay will hold the funds. At least with PayPal, if you were in good standings with them, they wouldn't hold funds against you if a case or dispute was opened...

Here's an example of eBay's SLOOOOW response to shady buyers.... I had sold an item, shipped next day and it was delivered within a week.. Like 3 weeks after the item was delivered, they sent me a courtesy message, letting me know that the buyer may be shady and w/e and not to ship the item if I hadn't shipped already.

Um, that was like 3 weeks after the person received it already.... way to stay on top of shady buyers eBay.

And I'm pretty sure, if that much time had gone by and I had NOT sent it yet, then they would've been on my rear end for not shipping it yet.

You pretty much can't win here unless the item shows it was delivered and the buyer claims INR. Other than that, sellers are just an after-thought, if even that.

I know, I am of the idea of staying on top of things, my first instinct is to call them, but if you see above there’s other people saying not to get ebay involved yet, and that I might even be charged $20 for involving them, which is very unfair.

so, I don’t know if I should keep waiting, the package was just delivered today, the case is still open.
I’m just afraid that they might get a refund and also my keep my item.

Make absolutely sure the tracking number is in the claim details. If you check the tracking on eBay is at also showing as Delivered?

This just happened to me as well. Only mine was shipped, delivered AND I received + feedback from the buyer. Funds now on hold, send the tracking number to challenge and I've heard nothing. I would contact the buyer but the feedback was misspelled (not autocorrect) and I don't know if there is a language barrier here or what but I don't want to make it worse. If their payment source refund them, how do I get the seller protection?
