Full Disclosure.....

Would informing buyers of seller cost be a violation of Ebay policy if added to the

bottom of description on listings/templates?

Under Managed Payment Policy Ebay fee (12.35%) is charged not just on item selling price and shipping but on state sales tax as well... that is what the seller pays. Buyer still pays sales tax but Seller pays Ebay fee on it, and it varies from state to state

Not sure what this managed payment policy Ebay fee is but Ebay has always charged me at 10%.

If you aren't in managed payments yet, you will be soon enough if you wish to sell.  Until you are part of the super secret MP society, we aren't permitted to discuss it here.

Re: Full Disclosure.....

Here's a link to Ebay's Managed Payment Info Page

Essentially, Ebay is taking over payment processing from Paypal.

Sellers will need to link bank account to Ebay in order to receive payment from all sales.

Signup is mandatory by mid July or you will be unable to sell on Ebay

Are You Ready?.....

Re: Full Disclosure.....

Why not put the cost of what you paid for the item on the listing ? That would help a buyer make a better decision to purchase rather than knowing what the Ebay cost is.

So what is the problem with that?

I personally am not thrilled to be forced to switch to something, that will end up costing me more in fees with no additional benefit to be found, when I didn't want to switch in the first place.

OP says 12.35% in fees. Currently I pay 10% to Ebay plus 3% to Paypal. Seems like a better deal.

Re: Full Disclosure.....

For One Thing... With Ebay's Managed Payment system, funds will take 2 or more days to show up in you  account.... Whereas money for sales are immediately available with Paypal processing

You are missing the part where you will be charged the higher 12.34% on the sales tax too as opposed to 2.9%.    Maybe you will love it---time will tell.
