Hi all,
Ebay forced me to accept a return even though my listing said no returns allowed. From reading stuff here, I got that my listing "no return allowed" means nothing to ebay. The buyer, not sure if I should type his name here... maybe not, said my listing was deceptive. The listing has variations. The buyer bought one of the variations: 4 AAA batteries. He did not pick the variation that has 4 AAA batteries + charger, but was expecting a charger. The listing title and main picture says/show a charger and AA batteries. BTW the 4 AAA batteries item he bought is not the first item in the items list to order. He had to scroll down to the list.
So I tried to call ebay customer service, (866)540-3229, but after several calls and interacting with the auto responder I still could not get to talk to anyone to find out why my listing was deceptive and how to fix it. My listing is still active, ebay did not shut down the listing. So how do I fix my "deceptive listing" so this doesn't happen again?
Thanks.

you fix the listing by HOPING the buyer actually READS and Has an ability to comprehend what they are reading.
Seriously , I would divide the listing between with and without CHARGER. Not a many options to look at.

You could always make two separate variation listings. One for just batteries where your photo shows that and another with batteries & charger to match your current photo.

'No Returns' does NOT mean 'nothing' to ebay. No Returns means a seller doesn't want it back and/or has the 'right' to 'deny' a return for refund depending on the reason (like most remorse).

Well, first off you are showing a charger in the picture even though some of the options do not include a charger. On its face that is misleading. You should have 2 SEPARATE listings, one with the charger options and one without the charger options (and in this one DO NOT include the charger in the picture).
One of my favorite quotes comes from H L Mencken:
Nobody ever went broke underestimating the intelligence of the American public.
And you are right - "No Returns" means nothing if there is a problem with the order.
