Forbidden Items

Over the past couple of months I have had items I try to list, removed because they are forbidden by eBay rules.  The first one I successfully listed and sold. Using the same information, I attempted to list another. It was removed by Bay even though several identical items were active by other sellers. I tried to list another related medical device only to have eBay forbid it too. Somebody must have bought it at that exact time because I was paid and shipped the item. I then tried to list another box of the product and it was removed even though other sellers have listings of the same product active. Why are some listed but others are removed?

The item was ebay-illegal for ALL listings. Just takes time to catch up to all the others, or they are approved or licensed or listed different words or listed different category or or or.....

Once you were 'caught' you are on the Radar as soon as you list. So do not attempt to list here or your selling career will be permanently over.

If eBay has removed your listings, that means that you are on eBay's radar.

That is NOT a good place to be.

Every time you decide to violate eBay rules and list a medical item, you increase the odds that your account will be terminated.

I would humbly suggest not worrying about other sellers.  They too will have their forbidden listings removed in due course.

Iv been caught in a couple of take downs. In my case the items were not illegal ,but I suppose a VeRO notice must have been filed. One day there were loads of these items listed, and mine had sold a week previous. Then fewer, then all were gone. This happened to me also with Dr Dre Beats head phones  I had a broken pair (broken wire in one ear piece) just on sale because they were expensive and people used to repair them. Suddenly nope cant list those. Then it went to cannot list them at all except new in shrink wrap. Both cases were like some weird rolling restriction. Dont relist anything like that...medical equipment is a touchy area.

It is wise to take the advice that has been posted. Don't worry about others. Eventually it will be their turn. Some things are not worth listing here.

Never use what other sellers are doing as a guide to inform your own choices. Always go directly to the eBay policy to get your listing info.

There are multiple reasons some listings fall thru the cracks. They could have permission to sell said item, and you do not. They haven’t been caught yet. Your listing may have not followed the rules and theirs did. eBay is not always consistent in the application of its penalties. But this much is certain—

eBay punishments are cumulative. Multiple violations, particularly of the same rule, can easily end with the seller’s termination of site privileges altogether. You are on a crash course currently, on the cusp of getting banned for life with no appeal.

It’s up to you, completely. If you persist in breaking the rules in a cavalier manner, despite your viewpoint that it’s not fair, eBay will still throw you off the site. We see this time and again in the forums. (Not that eBay even needs a reason. It grants itself full discretion to ban accounts for no reason at all.) For more information, see the eBay User Agreement. Good luck to you whatever you decide.

I remember a seller on YouTube mentioning how they listed a metal bracket used to mount a medical device to a wall and it was pulled as a banned item that required a prescription. It made no logical sense, a simple metal bracket would never require a prescription and is legal for anyone to own or sell.

However, they also said they just let it go and did not relist it, because of the extreme risk of listing pulled items. An eBay representative may look at an item, say it was a mistake and tell you it is ok to relist it... only to have the item pulled again automatically, and action taken against an account. Trying to get an action taken against an account in this circumstance reversed will be a nightmare, if one can have that decision reversed at all.

Don't relist a pulled item under any circumstances. Especially a medical device item. Even if the reason it is pulled is illogical and ridiculous. Don't argue about it. You can't win.

If you are constantly listing medical items that are being pulled, regardless whether the reason is valid or not, I would stop listing medical items for a while. Don't risk your account.

You can't sell RX items.

The one you sold will be removed.

Have a great day.
