I've been selling on Ebay since it's beginning, as each day goes by I am less likely to sell my wares .

Between the fees and the cost of shipping it has become a joke .

I can sell on FB Marketplace and I don't have to share my cash .

So long Ebay it's been a slice .

Sorry to hear you feel that way.  Hope you'll find another venue where the fees are more satisfactory.

Why is the cost of shipping a factor in your leaving eBay? Don't your buyers pay the shipping, or, if you're offering free shipping, aren't you building those fees into the item cost.

You posted the same thing in 2021, but you are still here.

If you don't mind waiting for buyers that don't show up, FB isn't to bad.

Have a great day.

Ebay 'began' in 1995, not 2000.

Sold less than 200 items in 25 years.  So not a big seller anyway.  Best of luck wherever you go.  Thanks for announcing your leaving every time.

@jcrk56

Facebook can be a wonderful place if you are selling locally only.  That is free.  But if you sell stuff that is going to ship, there are fees.

You must have another account as the one you are posting with here you created 5 years or so after Ebay started.

No matter where you sell on the internet, if it is something that has to be shipped, you will be paying shipping.  It isn't just here on Ebay.  And Ebay does not control the costs that carriers charge.  They can negotiate a bit of a discount with some of them, which is very helpful.

Ebay's fees just recently were increased in most categories from 13.25% [2020] to 13.6% in 2025.  A whole 0.35% increase in FVF is FIVE years.

Ebay is not the cheapest place to sell on the internet, nor is it the most expensive.

You can sell on FB if the 1000 people around you are interested in what you sell; or you can pay a percentage to have 180,000,000 people see your items.

Just hope you don't sell any of the OBS panels in the meantime because you can't ship them for price you have listed for shipping.

Those should be Local Pickup Only. Remove the shipping option.

Best of luck elsewhere.  Hope you have more items to sell other than what you have listed.

How are you losing money on shipping? You have only one listing out of four total in which you botched the shipping by asking $14.87 to ship 30 OSB panels of 32"x48" each. That should definitely be a Local Pickup Only listing with no shipping option. The other listings look okay for shipping with cost paid by the buyer.

It has taken you a long, long time to figure out that selling on eBay isn't working for you.  It isn't for everyone.

If you think selling your wares on FB will be better for you, then go for it.   Only you know what your financial goals are so you are the only one who can make that decision.  Thank you for letting us know.

Oops, I guess not. You still have items listed. So much for that drama post.
