Ebay is going to start rolling this out soon. They won't start with the golden Chinese, big box and mega sellers, they'll start with US, the little guys. Our holiday selling season will once again be screwed up because we all know this ain't gonna go as planned. There's so much wrong here, so much broken here already. Making a major, MAJOR change is something I just don't think Ebay can handle. I really, really don't. Glitches will happen to any online website when changes are made, that's a given. But with Ebay's past history of breaking things and ignoring real problems while focusing on cosmetics...well...I'm not optimistic.
I truly hope I'm wrong and it all goes off smoothly, but I'm not counting on it.

I agree that eBay's track record when making major site changes is not good. Which is why I am glad that they will be rolling this out slowly 🙂 I'm just keeping my fingers and toes crossed that they don't do it during Q4 LOL.
A real payment processor has been long overdue.
Everybody needs to take a deep breath and focus on facts....Which we don't have yet.

I have been googling and reading everything on every site that has anything to do with this announcement and anything that has to do with Adyen.
There have been no mentions of rolling reserves anywhere but HERE, on these boards ... statements made by people speculating about it.
I was already familiar with Adyen through Etsy (which does not have a 60-90 Day Rolling Reserve, BTW).
One more time, I am going to ask you to cite your source.
Where exactly is it written that "eBay will have rolling reserves when the transition to Adyen occurs"?

Nobody is going to need an Adyen account.
eBay is Adyen's client, not the seller.

It would go into an ADYEN account which is linked to your bank account just like PAYPAL.
Lets just call this what this is sellers remorse on the part of ebay they sold PAYPAL. It was doing well regardless. Now they dont have the control over paypal and funds they used to have. They are losing money so this move is to help ebay. Period. Not the buyer not the seller?
There will be no "Adyen account". Ayden acts as a true Payment Processor.
I can't say how it will work here, but I CAN tell you how it works on Etsy (Etsy uses Adyen).
A buyer checks out.
Etsy sends the money to my Bank Account once a week (this is MY preference, you can get it more often if you prefer).
I don't deal with Adyen, as a seller ... at all.
They are a pass-though, a portal, a true payment processor.
They don't have my money, except for the brief second it takes to verify the card is valid. The money goes from my buyer to Etsy, who pays me.
The fees are charged by Etsy, who pays Adyen for their services.
