Ebay has become my BIGGEST WASTER of PERSONAL TIME with INFERIOR PACKING SLIPS and MANAGED PAYMENTS

I am so very close to pulling the plug on being a SELLER on Ebay.  First, they changed the packing slip and it no longer shows the product sale price and shipping charge.  That ADDS two more steps to PROCESSING and PACKING ORDERS for customers.  GO BACK to the OLD FORMAT EBAY!  Don't WASTE my TIME with additional steps.  BOOK KEEPING is becoming a nightmare.  Now...onto MANAGED PAYMENTS.  Ebay has not given one thought to solving problems with this program.  Again, I sit down to pack and ship an order.  The money is sitting with you for about 3 to 5 days.  My first six orders didn't make it to my bank even though the ROUTING INFORMATION was correct.  Now you say it is smooth sailing with a DELAY of 3 to 5 days.  Ebay wastes my time checking and rechecking to see when and if it hits my personal bank account.  They take shipping out of PAY PAL and that means extra book keeping steps as well as paying upfront for shipping until reimbursed days later.  Let's not even begin to talk about COMBINED SHIPPING and PARTIAL CREDITS.  Get with it Ebay.  Straighten out your OBVIOUS SELLER PROBLEMS AND COMPLAINTS.  Don't waste my time when I call and say not to worry.  I have spent hours on the phone with CSR and their supervisors to NO SATISFACTION.  Again, A HUGE TIME WASTER.

well with due respect i do not think your suggestion is fair to print invoice, when you go on printing label page there is option to print packing list button but NOT INVOICE, so its extra work for seller to go back and forward to print invoice separately specially for the sellers who are selling with big volume.if ebay add button of printing invoice directly from label page then there would be no issue with printing invoice or packing list.

Up thread several options where shown where you can without any extra work.  But it is a personal choice for each seller to make.  A seller doesn't have to go back and print an invoice, they just need to remember to print it first.  Just a procedural thing.  I know that a change can take time to get use to, but in this case, it doesn't have to be extra work.  Just change the order in which you do things.  It is all on the same area of the Seller Hub.

But I respect if you don't want to do that.  In that case you will need to just continue with the packing slip you have available if that is what you prefer.  There is no right or wrong answers.  It is just what each seller prefers to do.

@onegopher

Since January 2010 we  have shipped 1541  packages to buyers and have yet  to include a packing slip.  Saved me paper, ink cartridges, etc.  Zero customer complaints.

As far as managed payment this  is an option for sellers I believe.  I don't have it.

If you're a managed payments selller, learn what happens when a buyer files a chargeback or payment ...

One more thing, have bought a couple hundred items on eBay and other on line venues.  Just a SWAG 80%  or more  were received w/o a  packing list.  I was not bummed out about - less paper to the trash can IMO &  will soon have 7 and 1/2 decades on this planet.

But  maybe you see a benefit that I fail to - not a tree hugger either - like to  save $$ to max profits.

I've gotten purchase data from PayPal using dates of purchase because Ebay had my pictures in purchases in half tons where I could not even tap to contact seller.

I see many Sellers say they have to use PayPal for processes vs. eBay, due to missing information ... and most recently due to Service Outages, where they had to print shipping labels and shipping records from PayPal.

As a Buyer, I also had to use PayPal to print out older purchase records that eBay purged (sooner than Customers would expect or need).

I'm in the no packing slip group- but my packages are still easily identifiable to the buyer with an eBay ID.

The managed payments link (with its typos and all) is a whole other topic- but they left out a big bombshell on that page about being covered for chargeback disputes. In addition to shipping to the address on file with tracking confirming delivery- eBay is requiring that the delivery be "on time" within the ETA that eBay provided to the buyer for sellers to receive protection on things like UA and INR.

And business cards are really inexpensive if you get them on the internet.  I've been very happy with the cards I purchase.

I think they may be in the process of changing over to this.  Some earlier in the thread are reporting no $$ on the packing slip.  I'm unsure.  I don't use this function.  I just put my business card in my packages.

Just got a purchase delivered by UPS last week. At least you do a business card:)

The closest that I got to that in my package was a card for another item that I could consider purchasing. It was in the mfg packaging.

This was not an eBay purchase. It was from Home Depot online with PP. They drop shipped directly from the manufacturer.  Not a lick of paperwork in the box. (product box was inside a plain brown corrugated box)  No packing slip. No invoice. No proof of purchase. Nothing to know where it came from other than the shipping label. No proof of payment, or how much.

Owners manual in the inner box has the installation instructions, trouble shooting, and the 5 year warranty info. Covered 100% from the original date of purchase.

Great !!!

"To obtain repair service under this warranty, you must contact us to obtain an RMA number. Proof of purchase in the form of a copy of your original receipt must accompany the returned unit for the warranty to be valid."

I think I may be in for some clickity clicks to get some documentation.

Sure hope I don't have any problems with this item in the next 5 years.

As a frequent and longtime buyer here, I always appreciated a Packing Slip/Invoice included with the item I purchased.  Then I had a record of my purchase (with my purchase) and didn't have to go back to print one out.

Sorry if this is an ignorant question- but print it for what purpose? Why do you need a paper copy for all of your purchases?

That is a very good question!

Most of the items I purchased were unique collectables (ancient coins, coins, stamps, etc.).  Many purchases I made were multiple items in one purchase.

The Invoice/Packing Slip that Sellers provided was a record of what I purchased (to identify the coins, etc. - some which are very difficult to identify), and also for Insurance Records (price paid).

The Sellers that included an Invoice/Packing Slip I considered the "Best of the Best" here.  Some would also write a "Thank You Note" on the Invoice/Packing Slip, which I always appreciated.  I was a repeat Buyer from many of these Great Sellers.

Thank you for sharing your suggestions and thoughts yes some seller can get use to it with passage of time but all sellers are not same , i would just say this if i am left hand driver and suddenly someone ask me to drive with right hand steering then definitely i would make accident.which will hurt me, its very easy for developers to keep changing the layout but it consume a lot of time for thousand of sellers to get use to it. i hope ebay should bring layout after proper testing with full flexibility , there are still many places some features are missing on ebay site. as per my personal experience ebay should pay more attention on this to make layout more flexible . Testing team really need some good coach.
