I am so very close to pulling the plug on being a SELLER on Ebay. First, they changed the packing slip and it no longer shows the product sale price and shipping charge. That ADDS two more steps to PROCESSING and PACKING ORDERS for customers. GO BACK to the OLD FORMAT EBAY! Don't WASTE my TIME with additional steps. BOOK KEEPING is becoming a nightmare. Now...onto MANAGED PAYMENTS. Ebay has not given one thought to solving problems with this program. Again, I sit down to pack and ship an order. The money is sitting with you for about 3 to 5 days. My first six orders didn't make it to my bank even though the ROUTING INFORMATION was correct. Now you say it is smooth sailing with a DELAY of 3 to 5 days. Ebay wastes my time checking and rechecking to see when and if it hits my personal bank account. They take shipping out of PAY PAL and that means extra book keeping steps as well as paying upfront for shipping until reimbursed days later. Let's not even begin to talk about COMBINED SHIPPING and PARTIAL CREDITS. Get with it Ebay. Straighten out your OBVIOUS SELLER PROBLEMS AND COMPLAINTS. Don't waste my time when I call and say not to worry. I have spent hours on the phone with CSR and their supervisors to NO SATISFACTION. Again, A HUGE TIME WASTER.

IMO Packing slips are a waste of paper and ink.
Update the screen below so shipping costs are correct at the checkout.

A Packing slip usually doesn't contain the price of the item or shipping charges. If that is what you want to send your buyer with each shipment, print a copy of the invoice instead. That will resolve that issue for you.
Bookkeeping does not have to be a nightmare, but to better help you with that one, you would have to give more details. FYI I have never depended on Ebay to give me my sales figures. I have always kept my own records.
In MP, Ebay has made many improvements over the past year. Certainly they still have a long ways to go IMHO but saying they haven't addressed any issues is not accurate. Maybe you choose to opt in too soon. I've decided to wait before entering of my own free will.

It doesn't have to be an extra step. Why not print an invoice and include it in the package instead of a packing slip?

eBay needs to embrace the word "Intuitive" a little more.

@onegopher Good post and yes, eBay has added a ton of extra time on the accounting end of those in Managed Payments ... just so they can control a Seller's money. PayPal has been a one stop shop for all transaction info in one nice database. Now Sellers will have to get shipping info from PayPal, other info from eBay and even more info from their banks ... way too many places to check info ...
If they would set Adyen up just like PayPal then it would be potentially seamless ... and oh by the way, they CAN set it up that way but nope, they will not do it.
I absolutely dread the day I am forced in to MP .. just dread it.

I'm not so sure that it is so they can "control" the seller's money. They have plenty of control even for those of us that use PP.
IMHO it is because they want to make money off of the money processing part of the business. They know intimately how much PP has made over the years and Ebay wants to follow along those footsteps. It is the same thing that Etsy and Amazon have done.

The Managed Payments program is a pain in the butt. Several aspects of the program were not mentioned when I was sent the e-mail to join up. All they said was "an easier way to manage your account, and get paid faster by having your funds deposited directly into your bank account. So they took PayPal out of the equation for getting your money, and for now the eBay fee is 12.7%, but that will go up soon as more and more sellers either join voluntarily, or are forced into the program. Also, once you're in, there is no option to get out. The only way out of the program is to create a new seller account. So many aspects of the MP program is hassle and causes sellers to spend more time working on their accounts. Just to list an item extra mouse clicks have been added. A click doesn't sound like much, but when you have to do it over and over and over again, it gets old quick. The old style was easy, just click "SELL", and start typing. The fact that you have to continually monitor your PayPal account to keep funds available for shipping charges adds extra time. The fiasco of combining shipping orders is awful, and let's not forget the fact that with MP, a seller is no longer able to initiate a partial refund to buyers, whether it be for excess shipping refunds, or whatever. That option has been stripped away from sellers. Overall, what EBay is doing is making it more difficult for sellers to do business on their site ( for no reason whatsoever), they are making it easier for sellers to lose their "TOP RATED" status by sneaking in policy changes (one day handling time), and I wouldn't be a bit surprised if they soon raise their selling fees once they get more sellers trapped into their managed payment programs. They are already making sellers pay more to get their items shown with the whole **bleep** program of promoted listings. Not only do you have to pay to play, but with that program, you have to pay extra just to get seen. If EBay doesn't change course, I can see the house of cards falling.

Yes I agree they immediately realize the processing $$ when a Seller is converted but I would really like to see the numbers for the Sellers and their income they lost because people simply don't want to have them that involved with their business. While we may never know the hard numbers it may wind up being reflected in their sales numbers (if reported honestly and accurately) over the next year.
Don't get me wrong, I am not against change but when it adds unnecessary and additional work on the Seller's part it is not a good business decision in my mind. I am NOT looking for more to do to complete the same tasks, nor should anyone.
I think a lot of mid-sized Sellers are starting to take a hard look at other online sales avenues ... the really big Sellers I think are stuck and the new Sellers will eventually not know any different when they sign up. But for those part time to semi full time Sellers it's all about ROI on the time invested ...

It's coming. I wish I could find my email about it, but I believe sometime in 2020, they are forcing ALL sellers into the program. It might have been 2021. I can't remember. Enjoy your "GOLDEN DAYS OF SELLING", because Managed Payments suck. Unles eBay makes changes, it is going to stay that way. What am I saying??? Of course eBay is going to make changes, just changes to make selling on their site more difficult.

Unless I am missing something, when I go to print a shipping label, there is a tab there to print a packing slip. It used to be that the packing slip was more like a receipt, showing the sales amount. Now I have to go to a separate menu, with 2 additional steps to print that receipt.

Another thing that concerns me about MP is the lack of user friendly reports. That is a big deal to me as well. PP makes it pretty easy to download a report and work with it to support in detail the numbers they report to IRS on our 1099's. I don't have that same comfort zone with Ebay's reports.

They have said that since the day they were preparing to launch MP. By 2021 it will be site wide and we will all be required to be in MP if we want to sell on Ebay.
However, the program as it is today will be different by the time 2021 comes along. MP has made many changes over the past year and there is more to come. So I wait until it gets much closer to meeting my needs before I want to join the program voluntarily.
But by contract with PP, Ebay can only have certain percentages of sales processed on the site by other means than PP. 2018 it was 5%, this year is 10%. Ebay's contract with PP ends in 2021 which is why they plan for MP to be sitewide in 2021.
