I am so very close to pulling the plug on being a SELLER on Ebay. First, they changed the packing slip and it no longer shows the product sale price and shipping charge. That ADDS two more steps to PROCESSING and PACKING ORDERS for customers. GO BACK to the OLD FORMAT EBAY! Don't WASTE my TIME with additional steps. BOOK KEEPING is becoming a nightmare. Now...onto MANAGED PAYMENTS. Ebay has not given one thought to solving problems with this program. Again, I sit down to pack and ship an order. The money is sitting with you for about 3 to 5 days. My first six orders didn't make it to my bank even though the ROUTING INFORMATION was correct. Now you say it is smooth sailing with a DELAY of 3 to 5 days. Ebay wastes my time checking and rechecking to see when and if it hits my personal bank account. They take shipping out of PAY PAL and that means extra book keeping steps as well as paying upfront for shipping until reimbursed days later. Let's not even begin to talk about COMBINED SHIPPING and PARTIAL CREDITS. Get with it Ebay. Straighten out your OBVIOUS SELLER PROBLEMS AND COMPLAINTS. Don't waste my time when I call and say not to worry. I have spent hours on the phone with CSR and their supervisors to NO SATISFACTION. Again, A HUGE TIME WASTER.

Let's not even begin to talk about COMBINED SHIPPING and PARTIAL CREDITS.
I have been in MP since October 2018. I have no problems with COMBINED SHIPPING because my rules are to ADD THE WEIGHTS.
Recently I had a buyer from Canada ask why a tote I was selling states over $35 for shipping. Whaaat? I looked at the listing and sure enough, it was way off for a 12 ounce package. I told the buyer to make the purchase BUT DO NOT PAY and I will send an invoice with the corrected shipping cost. Well, he made the purchase and PAID that $35 shipping cost. I went to the order, selected to REFUND the buyer, and one of the choices was a PARTIAL REFUND. ebay has never credited the FVF on a partial refund (although I have read posts where sellers have stated they called CS and did get a partial credit of the FVF).

@mr_lincoln wrote:@onegopher Good post and yes, eBay has added a ton of extra time on the accounting end of those in Managed Payments ... just so they can control a Seller's money. PayPal has been a one stop shop for all transaction info in one nice database. Now Sellers will have to get shipping info from PayPal, other info from eBay and even more info from their banks ... way too many places to check info ...
If they would set Adyen up just like PayPal then it would be potentially seamless ... and oh by the way, they CAN set it up that way but nope, they will not do it.
I absolutely dread the day I am forced in to MP .. just dread it.
I'm not so sure that it is so they can "control" the seller's money. They have plenty of control even for those of us that use PP.
IMHO it is because they want to make money off of the money processing part of the business. They know intimately how much PP has made over the years and Ebay wants to follow along those footsteps. It is the same thing that Etsy and Amazon have done.
Yes I agree they immediately realize the processing $$ when a Seller is converted but I would really like to see the numbers for the Sellers and their income they lost because people simply don't want to have them that involved with their business. While we may never know the hard numbers it may wind up being reflected in their sales numbers (if reported honestly and accurately) over the next year.
Don't get me wrong, I am not against change but when it adds unnecessary and additional work on the Seller's part it is not a good business decision in my mind. I am NOT looking for more to do to complete the same tasks, nor should anyone.
I think a lot of mid-sized Sellers are starting to take a hard look at other online sales avenues ... the really big Sellers I think are stuck and the new Sellers will eventually not know any different when they sign up. But for those part time to semi full time Sellers it's all about ROI on the time invested ...
Another thing that concerns me about MP is the lack of user friendly reports. That is a big deal to me as well. PP makes it pretty easy to download a report and work with it to support in detail the numbers they report to IRS on our 1099's. I don't have that same comfort zone with Ebay's reports.
Excellent point and it should concern EVERY Seller ... the back end accounting has been my concern from day 1 when they outlined what MP was and how it would function. I love the PP date range programmable CSV formatted database ... all the info is right there and can be easily manipulated in a spreadsheet program ... I have yet to explore the eBay reports in Seller Hub (for NON MP users) ... maybe later this Fall but right now I can get everything I need from PP ...

Nice ... a Hybrid (Combined Invoice & Packing Slip)!
@mam98031 wrote:
I know. I tried explaining several times that there are no extra steps. It is the same amount of work for either form. But some are just so fixated on having a Packing Slip with pricing that it just doesn't sit well with them to include an invoice, which has pricing.
While some companies do packing slips with pricing, it isn't standard. I would venture a guess that most companies do not do packing slips with pricing. Packing slips are not meant to be a financial record but a record of shipment and what the shipment contains. The financial record is the invoice.
Sometimes change is hard on some. I know I sometimes have a tough time with it. I get so use to doing something a certain way that any change to that just seems wrong. In time I adjust and realize I'm fine. But that changeover period is sometimes quite challenging.
But this one does have pricing on it...and it says invoice/Packing slip - like two in one...how'd they do that?
...without any extra clickity clicks? Maybe...hopefully?
See post 37.
Most everything we do needs a click or 2 to make the choices that we want. The pages are not intuitive 🙂
Even with the "my eBay selling", and "classic label" flow I need to make a click to print my "industry standard" plain old "packing slip".

Just got a purchase delivered by UPS last week. At least you do a business card:)
The closest that I got to that in my package was a card for another item that I could consider purchasing. It was in the mfg packaging.
This was not an eBay purchase. It was from Home Depot online with PP. They drop shipped directly from the manufacturer. Not a lick of paperwork in the box. (product box was inside a plain brown corrugated box) No packing slip. No invoice. No proof of purchase. Nothing to know where it came from other than the shipping label. No proof of payment, or how much.
Owners manual in the inner box has the installation instructions, trouble shooting, and the 5 year warranty info. Covered 100% from the original date of purchase.
Great !!!
"To obtain repair service under this warranty, you must contact us to obtain an RMA number. Proof of purchase in the form of a copy of your original receipt must accompany the returned unit for the warranty to be valid."
I think I may be in for some clickity clicks to get some documentation.
Sure hope I don't have any problems with this item in the next 5 years.

I've always put a business card in my packages. I think it helps promote repeat customers. And oh how I love my repeat customers. I have found people are far more likely to hang onto a business card than they are a piece of paper.
It has served me well over the years so I'll just keep doing what I've been doing. No packing slips for me.

They have said that since the day they were preparing to launch MP. By 2021 it will be site wide and we will all be required to be in MP if we want to sell on Ebay.
However, the program as it is today will be different by the time 2021 comes along. MP has made many changes over the past year and there is more to come. So I wait until it gets much closer to meeting my needs before I want to join the program voluntarily.
But by contract with PP, Ebay can only have certain percentages of sales processed on the site by other means than PP. 2018 it was 5%, this year is 10%. Ebay's contract with PP ends in 2021 which is why they plan for MP to be sitewide in 2021
Do you mean that us buyers cannot use paypal too? If so, that SUCKS BIG TIME!
One more company who wants my personal financial info???
Ummmm......
I trust paypal - they haven't given me any reason to worry. I don't know what to think given all of the techincal difficulties at eBay lately...and they want my credit card #'s - bank acct #'s etc...??? I don't know...
Ebay has already added PP to MP. Buyers can now use PP to pay for those sellers that are in MP. They added it in late Spring 2019. It is Sellers that won't be able to have payments processed into their own PP accounts once they enter MP.
After the contract ends in 2021, buyers will still be able to use PP. Nothing has been said about ending that. And it would cost Ebay dearly to do that, so the chances of that happening aren't likely.
As a buyer you have NOTHING to worry about. In fact for buyers they will have more options to pay with.
Many Buyers (and Sellers) are reporting problems with trying to pay with PayPal. Sellers have been reporting receiving messages from Buyers who can't pay.
Hopefully issues will be resolved and these transactions won't be lost in the future.

Yep, problems happen. Hopefully it is resolved soon as it is important to both buyers and sellers.

The one advantage I see for new packing slips is the price is missing so customs have no idea what the value is.

The value is suppose to be stated on the Customs form. Customs do not open every package they receive. They do it sometimes when they have reason to have cause. But I would venture a guess that most or never opened, so they don't see the packing slip.
