Ebay has become my BIGGEST WASTER of PERSONAL TIME with INFERIOR PACKING SLIPS and MANAGED PAYMENTS

I am so very close to pulling the plug on being a SELLER on Ebay.  First, they changed the packing slip and it no longer shows the product sale price and shipping charge.  That ADDS two more steps to PROCESSING and PACKING ORDERS for customers.  GO BACK to the OLD FORMAT EBAY!  Don't WASTE my TIME with additional steps.  BOOK KEEPING is becoming a nightmare.  Now...onto MANAGED PAYMENTS.  Ebay has not given one thought to solving problems with this program.  Again, I sit down to pack and ship an order.  The money is sitting with you for about 3 to 5 days.  My first six orders didn't make it to my bank even though the ROUTING INFORMATION was correct.  Now you say it is smooth sailing with a DELAY of 3 to 5 days.  Ebay wastes my time checking and rechecking to see when and if it hits my personal bank account.  They take shipping out of PAY PAL and that means extra book keeping steps as well as paying upfront for shipping until reimbursed days later.  Let's not even begin to talk about COMBINED SHIPPING and PARTIAL CREDITS.  Get with it Ebay.  Straighten out your OBVIOUS SELLER PROBLEMS AND COMPLAINTS.  Don't waste my time when I call and say not to worry.  I have spent hours on the phone with CSR and their supervisors to NO SATISFACTION.  Again, A HUGE TIME WASTER.

Re: Ebay has become my BIGGEST WASTER of PERSONAL TIME with INFERIOR PACKING SLIPS and MANAGED PAYME

Actually, an invoice is a billing document so it requires that the prices be included.  Packing slips are documents that list the items included in a shipment and while the quantity of the items included is necessary prices may or may not be included.  Of course, if the buyer pays before the seller sends an invoice a copy of invoice marked paid, which includes the prices, will suffice as a receipt or a simple sales receipt can substitute for the invoice.

Ordinarily, an invoice, being the request for payment, doesn't need to be sent if the buyer pays at checkout and a sales receipt is issued.  Normally doing business does require a lot of paperwork (documentation).  Unfortunately, that is the nature of the beast.

I'm afraid that the days of business being done with a simple handshake have long gone.  I remember the days when I had to keep counter checks from the local banks for my customer's convenience.  Ahh... The good old days.

That isn't the norm from any online retailer.  I am looking at three different packing slips from three different online stores that I have ordered from in the past month and NONE of them have prices on them, just the item name, item number and quantity shipped.

I see the sales price of items I've purchased on many Packing Slips received from different on-line stores (including eBay Packing Slips for purchases I've made in the past).  This information is useful and appreciated.

The other day I had to print a shipping label and this eBay wouldn't let me, I kept getting errors. So next best thing …. I went to PayPal and printed my shipping label and packing slip there …. GUESS WHAT !!! the packing slip had all the pricing info that the one on eBay once had. I still got the postage discount too. So this may be a solution, maybe !?!?

Kudos to PayPal for providing useful information and things Sellers (and Buyers) want.

I guess I'm the only one here who never uses Ebay for packing slips/invoices or whatever y'all want to call them. I print mine from Paypal when I verify and log the payment.

Why do you need prices on packing slips?

As a Buyer I always appreciate when the Item(s) and Sales Price(s) is on the packing slip I receive from eBay and online merchants.

They have said that since the day they were preparing to launch MP.  By 2021 it will be site wide and we will all be required to be in MP if we want to sell on Ebay.

However, the program as it is today will be different by the time 2021 comes along.  MP has made many changes over the past year and there is more to come.  So I wait until it gets much closer to meeting my needs before I want to join the program voluntarily.

But by contract with PP, Ebay can only have certain percentages of sales processed on the site by other means than PP.  2018 it was 5%, this year is 10%.  Ebay's contract with PP ends in 2021 which is why they plan for MP to be sitewide in 2021

One more company who wants my personal financial info???

I trust paypal - they haven't given me any reason to worry.  I don't know what to think given all of the techincal difficulties at eBay lately...and they want my credit card #'s - bank acct #'s etc...???  I don't know...

Hopefully there isn't too many clickty clicks to do this as some sellers are complaining about...a few extra steps?  Hopefully not.

@chasearooauctions

Yes you can.

Go to your Seller Hub

Then to Manage All Order

Look at any of your filled orders that you want.  Click on the drop down menu just below where it states the day you shipped.

The second option on that drop down menu is "Print Shipping Labels or Invoices"

Or from the same drop down menu you could select "View Record"  It will give you the same info and you can print it if you want.

Or if you want you can call up the listing the buyer purchased from.

Click on Number Sold so you get the list of buyers that have purchased from this listing.

To the right of each User ID / Buyer ID is a drop down menu.  You can click on "view order details" there is a printable version of that and it has all the information on it for you.

Or if you prefer, from the same list you can click on "View Purchase Item", that is printable too and gives you all the information you need.

There may be more ways to get at the information, but at least this gives you some ideas where you can find the information desired.  I hope it helps.

Ebay has already added PP to MP.  Buyers can now use PP to pay for those sellers that are in MP.  They added it in late Spring 2019.  It is Sellers that won't be able to have payments processed into their own PP accounts once they enter MP.

After the contract ends in 2021, buyers will still be able to use PP.  Nothing has been said about ending that.  And it would cost Ebay dearly to do that, so the chances of that happening aren't likely.

As a buyer you have NOTHING to worry about.  In fact for buyers they will have more options to pay with.

But it isn't a few extra clicks.  It is on the same screen as the option to print a label.  There is no extra work involved.
