the day after the order. Last week or so I had an order. I purchased the label from eBay like usual the tracking updated and I shipped the item out and it started tracking on its way to the buyer. I checked my page and had no pending orders and happened to be going on vacation so I put my account on vacation mode. Somehow during that time that same item shows up as "sold you need to ship." Now I almost shipped the item again thinking I had sold another one but luckily I caught that it was not a new order of the same item I had listed (have multiples) it was referring to the one I had already shipped to the same buyer who only ordered the one. So this must be a glitch that could have really messed me up. However, since I was away I didn't catch that it was saying the tracking wasn't uploaded even thought it absolutely had been and now I have a defect even after I re uploaded the correct shipping. As a super small seller it says I have completed 14/15 with uploaded shipping on time but I can lose my top rated status if I have 2 lates. So now I have one for no reason. I emailed with customer service 3 times and their responses get dumber and dumber each time literally ignoring everything I am telling them. My dashboard says I can lose my top rated seller with one more of this issue (no other issues at all) and CS says either it's my fault or tries to tell me oh no it's not a defect etc. What number do I call and am I just in the wrong here? Thanks!

You'll get no help from ebay's CSR's. Most people say contacting them on facebook or instagram is the best way to get US based reps that can actually help.
It very well could be a glitch. Has the item been delivered? I had one yesterday morning that said no carrier scan (at the time it showed 'out for delivery' among other scans). Later in the day the item showed delivered and the defect was gone. May just be a matter of the system resetting it.

Thanks for the reply. Item was delivered on time, the metric that is messing my seller metrics up is "tracking uploaded on time and validated." My issue is I know some people purchase labels elsewhere like pirateship and have to manually upload the tracking info in order for eBay to know you shipped etc. That's where this defect can come in to play logically. However, I have never once that I can recall have had to upload a tracking number because I buy the label from eBay and it automatically adds it and it shows in "my shipping labels" tab that I purchased the label the next day after the order. All I want them to do is look at my purchased shipping labels directly from eBay platform that shows this purchase and that somehow the tracking didn't upload but the label is there plain as day. Tracking shows package was dropped off within two days and moved through the system to be delivered on time. None of this is getting through to the Bay reps I have been emailing with and either they really don't get it or they are trained to be deliberately obtuse. One rep sent me a link to show me that eBay says I did not upload the tracking on time. I'm like yes I know eBay says that and I am showing you proof of why this is a glitch. They don't care. Maybe if I can get someone on the phone...lol.

A bit confused as it's been a while since I sold. If it shows the package as 'dropped off', is that not the same as an 'upload'? Note that when I sold, I used eBay USPS labels (so tracking was visible) but mailed same-day or next-day. So, confused...

The tracking as I was able to access from the label I purchased and printed through eBay gave me the tracking number. Which I then was able to copy and paste into usps tracking website to confirm as I knew that the package was dropped off and moving through the system. The problem is despite me having bought the label and the label showing in my eBay shipping labels section, this time (unlike the hundreds of other labels I have purchased from eBay) did not upload properly (due to a glitch?) to the ebay order where it suddenly showed I had not created tracking for the package and therefore it was "not sent out on time" according to them. In other words, my eBay account shows both the label generated by eBay that I purchased and the tracking from usps that I am getting a defect for buying a label and shipping an item within 48 hours of the order both of which are provable but being dismissed. Hope this clarifies.

That is not true.
You'll only be evaluated as Below Standard if your transaction defects are associated with more than 4 different buyers.

Late shipping is not a transaction defect.
The OP is talking about losing Top Rated Status, not going Below Standard.
Losing Top Rated Status and going Below Standard are two completely different things.

I understood what the OP said. It was still incorrect. I responded to a specific statement they made which was " I can lose my top rated status if I have 2 lates." That is not true then or now. What I said above is correct and I provided the link if anyone would like to look at the policy.
Certainly there is a step in between TRS and Below Standard and maybe I should have noted that. Still it does not change what I posted in regards to losing TRS, it takes 4 different buyers, not two.

@dhbookds wrote:@mam98031 did you look at the screen shot? He is talking about uploading tracking numbers.......you are talking about defects.....I think....
I saw the post. It shows they have a couple of defects and they are getting closer to losing TRS. They have 2 and if they get 2 more, they can lose their TRS rating. As I said in my post. My very short post. It takes FOUR to lose the TRS status.

OK, there are different numbers of Defects required for different Stats collected that can cause a seller to drop to Above standard or even Below Standard, depending on the numbers.
I was incorrect in stating that it takes 4 different buyers in the late shipment Defects, it is actually 5 as you noted above.

I do not have a "couple of defects". This is my one and only issue on my whole seller dashboard. The screen shot shows I have 1 late tracking uploaded and because I am such a small seller it's telling me I can only have 2 or I may lose "Top Rated Status" it is all right there in my screenshot. If eBay has different policies then why are they showing me this? Again, my main question is if I purchased the label right from eBay and every single other time the tracking is uploaded on my behalf and this time it did not seems like a glitch to me.
