Ebay Switching from PayPal to Direct Payments using Bank Accounts?? RIDICULOUS!!!!

OK, Is this for real? Ebay seems to be ditching Paypal for sellers and wanting to use my Bank Account to manage payments. Ebay wants my Bank Account information???  Forget IT Ebay!!! I am NOT (repeat NOT) giving you my Bank account info to manage my payments!!   I have been perfectly happy with payments being made thru Paypal over the years and if ebay cannot continue this then I will move to another platform.

Please respond if you are in agreement!

You may have a little problem finding another platform. This policy is not just for eBay but all online sellers. Someone in D.C. finally woke up and realized millions of dollars in unreported income was keeping them from wasting  it on useless fun stuff. Not to mention that it’s always been the law to report ALL income. You might want to redirect that stress and anger and hope/pray they don’t decide to make it retroactive.

The decision to switch to in-house payment processing has nothing to do with income reporting or any other government policy.

The same way some sellers still don't know they can't give buyers a negative feedback.

Maybe ebay should have a help and contact section and a forum.

eBay had a dedicated forum for MP, many months ago and there have been Q & A forums as well...some folks just don't bother to read announcements and many don't come to the forums> they expect and/or they feel they are entitled to have customer service rescue them from their own demise...

Some other things you may have missed while you were out of town:

1. Dewey did not defeat Truman.

2. We landed on the moon.

3. President Nixon resigned.

4. The Berlin wall came down.

There are many more current events available if you're interested.

I am in total agreement. I haven't been able to list or edit items since around October, but I still have active items. Just waiting for THEM to remove them, then I'm done with eBay. They are NOT taking control of my finances.

Or that they're paying FVF on shipping. Seriously, how do you not know what fees you've been paying for ten years?

Paypal is fairly transparent with your funds... eBay is far from transparent.

It's not just your BANK ACCOUNT, but your SOCIAL SECURITY Number TOO!!!...

PayPal has your SSN, whether or not you remember or admit to giving it to them.  Your medical providers have it.  Your bank has it.  If you've ever bought or sold real estate, the escrow company / other faciltator has it.  If you were ever a student in tertiary ed, your school more than likely has it because it was commonly used as a student ID number.  If you've ever filed a police report, there's a good chance that the PD still has it.  If you have a passport or a driver's license, those issuing agencies have your SSN.  You gave it if you ever applied for a credit card, a loan, or even certain cell phone services.  Investment houses and brokerages have it, if you do any sort of investing or trading.  Everyone who has ever employed you has it.  The big three credit reporting agencies have your SSN.  The list goes on.  Heck, people used to commonly have it printed on their checks because so many people took and used the number.  Yawn.

Just a little exaggeration there. They just need your SSN (required by law) and a checking account number to put your fund in. They are not going to  "take control of your finances".
