How many times do you have to ask them to stop doing this???
I was told by the people I spoke to weeks ago "it is a promotion. You do not have to pay for it." What bloody part of "DO NOT AUTOMATICALLY RELIST ANY OF MY ITEMS do you NOT understand???? I do not give a flip whether it is a promotion or not! Stop doing it! They tell me it is taken care of and then it happens again and again and again.
Let something sell. JUST LET SOMETHING SELL. I WILL NOT SHIP IT, and I HOPE THE BUYER COMPLAINS AND IT CAUSES THE BIGGEST STINK THIS SIDE OF THE EQUATOR!!! I told you to stop relising my items without my consent!!! I am tired of going in and ending items that YOU keep relisting without my consent, my approval, my authorisation, or even my knowledge until I find the email saying you relisted an item. I am sick of this!!!!

Thanks hollyd7770. My listings are mostly with an opening bid or buy it now. I am just a very casual seller, and eBay is making selling a lot more complicated than it should be. : (

Well done, annasunicorns! Thanks. : )

@hollyd7770 wrote:The reason why this happens is that all items relist automattically if they are a fixed price listing. That was a policy change EBAY mentioned about a year ago. If EBAY sees it has relsited several times with no sale the will end it. So if you do not want them to relist items then end them when the listings have less than 1 day to go.
I do all fixed price. I've never had an item automatically relist when it concluded. There is no policy change that fixed priced items relist immediately if unsold. The OP stated there were part of some promotion ebay was conducting, unbeknownst to them.

All doing what you say you are going to do is get you booted from ebay forever.
...and you won't make ebay's life a living hell. The best you could do is give some schlub that works for 8$ an hour something to gripe about at lunch.

Exactly. They never notified me of a promotion or aske me if I wanted to participate. They have just been automatically relisting my items. Apparently, they are not applying this promotion to everyone, just to certain "casual sellers." I guess they think any one who sells more than casually does not deserve the promotion. In any case, I do NOT want their promotion, and I think they have some bloody nerve to do this without asking me.

That's a pretty big assumption on ebay's part that a seller wants their unsold item relisted. It's not uncommon for me to decide to keep an item that doesn't sell and start using it or give it away. This assumption could cause lots of problems for sellers not aware their item was listed again.
Many of these "promotions" or "enhancements" are thrust upon new sellers or sellers that don't sell on a regular basis. In other words, sellers that can least absorb a defect for out of stock.

I think I remember back to when we found out that ebay was doing this to new sellers. I don't remember the fine details, but I do think hicotane is right that you must end the listing, delete the listing from unsolds, and then pray to as many gods as possible that it doesn't get relisted again.

Indeed they should not...but they are predatory.

One other important piece of advice. ALWAYS come here to the selling board to ask questions before calling customer service. As you found out, CS knows very little about sellers' needs. The posters on this board know more than all the CS agents combined.

hioctane62, I think you are correct. Of all the customer service people I may have to speak to from any website, any business, any card, etc., none are as bad as eBay customer service. Occasionally, I get a really good one on eBay, but it is very rare.
