Ebay Continues to Automatically Re-List My Items AFTER I HAVE CALLED 4 TIMES and Said STOP IT!

How many times do you have to ask them to stop doing this???

I was told by the people I spoke to weeks ago "it is a promotion.  You do not have to pay for it."  What bloody part of "DO NOT AUTOMATICALLY RELIST ANY OF MY ITEMS do you NOT understand????  I do not give a flip whether it is a promotion or not!  Stop doing it!  They tell me it is taken care of and then it happens again and again and again.

Let something sell.  JUST LET SOMETHING SELL.  I WILL NOT SHIP IT, and I HOPE THE BUYER COMPLAINS AND  IT CAUSES THE BIGGEST STINK THIS SIDE OF THE EQUATOR!!!  I told you to stop relising my items without my consent!!!  I am tired of going in and ending items that YOU keep relisting without my consent, my approval, my authorisation, or even my knowledge until I find the email saying you relisted an item.  I am sick of this!!!!

This is FOR THE RECORD.  I am on hold for eBay for the 5th time about this.  I do NOT believe for a moment that they will resolve this.  If they were going to resolve it, they would have done it weeks ago and FOUR phone calls ago, so here is what I am going to do.

I am going to lower the prices on the UNAUTHORISED relisted items so that they will sell within minutes.  I will then notifiy the buyer that I WILL NOT SHIP.  Let them complain to eBay.  I have a few choice words for eBay.

I am assuming that you are listing using the app or the quick listing tool ... on those, Good til Cancelled is the default setting, and your items will relist.  So, if you are listing through these, then in effect you are giving eBay your consent to relist because that's the default setting.

If you want to list items and not have the GTC option selected, you will need to use the advanced listing tool.

If you are writing about something else, then can you provide some more information about what your experiencing?

I understand you are upset. I get it. All of us have been there. However, if you sell an item for 1 cent and Free Shipping and refuse to honor the sale - it will hurt your account. The seller will be annoyed, you may get a neg. but the account defect will stick. Get a few more like that and eBay may move to terminate your right to sell...forever. You might well end up only hurting yourself.

Please reconsider - perhaps like another person suggested the phone app might be the reason you are having a relisting problem.

No, I am not using a phone app.  I am using the same way of listing that I have used for years and years.  I had never had any problems before.  I would make a listing, and there would be a box to check if you wanted to have the listing automatically renew if the item did not sell.   I NEVER checked that box in all the years I have used eBay.

Then, suddenly, a few weeks ago, I was getting messages that my listings had been relisted.  I thought, what?  I never relisted that item!  I contacte eBay and asked, what is going on?  They told me it was a "promotion."  They said they were automatically relisting my items at "no charge" to me, as if I was supposed to be happy about that.  I said do not do this anymore.  They assured me 4 times that they would remove my listings from the "promotion."

Each time they automatically relisted an item, I went into the listed and checked it to see what it looked like.  I saw the box to "automatically relist" was checked.  I UNCHECKED the box and saved the changes.  After the listing ended, they would automatically relist AGAIN, and I would have to go in again and uncheck the box and save the changes.  This annoying and unnecessary.  I am not a brand new eBayer.  I know what I am doing, and I KNOW I do not want my listings automatically relisted.  It is my choice if an item is relisted and at what date it MIGHT BE relisted.  Bloody hell, eBay has some NERVE!  I told them, if the item sells now, and I did not relist this item myself, eBay better be bloody well ready to ship the exact same item to the buyer because I WILL NOT.

You know what has caused this problem?  This problem like almost all others is for one reason and one reason only: Ebay GREED.

The only thing that will result from a purchase if you refuse to ship is a defect and potential neg. Enough of these and you won't have to worry about auto relists, as you'll be suspended.

Ebay receives buyer complaints on a daily basis. A complaint from a sole buyer isn't going to make an impact. Your posting to the boards will also make no difference to ebay. They don't react to individual sellers posting here.

My best advice would be to calmly message your issue through the ebay facebook page. I've received some top notch help from there in the past, when all else failed. However, if you contact them with the type of rant you've posted here, you may have trouble getting assistance. It may take a day or two to get an answer from them due to high message volume. It's worth waiting for if it finally resolves an issue!

Just revise the listing to remove GTC.

One more try.....when that item you have listed at 1 cent and free shipping for $1 Buy it Now sells for $1.00 - you will be shipping it for $2.66 at a loss or refusing selling  it, refunding the buyer, earning an  account defect and making a  buyer mad. And remind me how does this solve your listing problem?

You are upset due to a relisting problem - I get that but this approach does not solve your problem and in fact creates more issues that do nothing to address your concern.

After you ended the items, did you also DELETE them from your unsold list?

Ebay Continues to Automatically Re-List My Items AFTER I HAVE CALLED 4 TIMES and Said STOP IT!

Thank you, sodelight.  You know, I was around on eBay in the beginning.  In those days, I really enjoyed the site.  It was not nearly as big as it is now.  There were no photos and no PayPal, yet, I seldom ever had a problem as either a buyer or a seller.  I accrued a good bit of seller feedback as I sold off a lot of items I no longer used, wanted, needed.  Then, I was busy with other things for 3-4 years and never visited the site at all.  Finally, I came back to the site a few years ago but could not remember my password.  I had a credit balance on eBay, too.  I used to send them a personal cheque in the old days to cover listing fees and final value fees IN ADVANCE.

Well, I contacted eBay for help logging in.  They said they could send something to my email address.  What was it?  I said, good grief, I do not recall.  I have moved 2-3 times since then, and changed ISPs, too.  It was probably an AOL address, but I no longer have AOL.  I was told, well then, we cannot help you.  I never could get back into my old account and lost all of the prepaid money I had on file.  I decided to let it go; it was not worth the aggravation.  I created a new user I.D. and this time was much more of a buyer than a seller.  Things changed, though.  Now people could add photos to their listings, and there was this new thing called "PayPal."  In the old days, no pictures and no PayPal.  You had to know exactly what you were buying and pay via cheque, money order, or occasionally cash.  Know you what?  I found eBay was actually a better place in those days.

After it went public and their were "stockholder interests" to worry about, GREED took over like I had never witnessed before.  The site will never be the same, unfortunately.  Another good site has lost its way and is now emulating eBay and its own "PayPal" type payment called "etsy pay."

I am sick of the lot of them.   I cannot imagine where these people get off thinking they can decide for the seller that an item will be listed.  Greed.  That is all it is.

After you end the ones that have been relisting, immediately delete them from your unsolds and this should end the relisting.

You can still find the items in a general search or a search of your ended items if you need to access them or want to save them or relist them later.

I don't know why the OP keeps calling CS about this instead of revising his listing.

You can't revise from GTC to 30 days BIN while the listing is still active. It shows that you revised it, but it doesn't revise it. You have to cancel each listing that is GTC, then when you relist it, at that time make sure the GTC is unchecked, for each listing, one listing at a time. I know it uses up your listings, but that is the only way to fix this.

The reason why this  happens is that all items relist automattically if they are a fixed price listing. That was a policy change EBAY mentioned about a year ago. If EBAY sees it has relsited several times with no sale the will end it. So if you do not want them to relist items then end them when the listings have less than 1 day to go.
