This topic comes up once in a while on the boards.
I went to the Doctor's office on Monday for a routine visit.
I end up in the ER and was told I was going to have be admitted.
With one phone call to a loved one, we set in motion our emergency plan to set my store to time away.
At that time I had 3 orders to fill.
My loved on was able to pull and ship those orders just as we have practiced.
Moral of this story: It's very important to have a emergency plan in place.
P.S. I got released Tuesday afternoon alive and kicking. 😉

I guess with the holidays almost upon us, there was a bed available for you to get the care you needed.
Good that your plan worked. Even better that you have been discharged.
Be well.

My sympathies, obviously.
Nevertheless, heal up quickly while the holidays are still before us!
I skimmed and thought you were asking @inhawaii about his 'pot' intake. (It made sense...) Spit coffee on my monitor. 😂

Glad that you are OK-I've enjoyed reading your many posts in this forum.
Your emergency planning is a great idea and one which we all should consider.
It is also important to do some pre-planning if you know you will be incapacitated. I had my shoulder replaced in late October and am still limited to what I can do. Before the surgery I made sure that I had plenty of boxes assembled (I still can't use the tape gun) , had shipping supplies easily accessible, etc. Also had plenty of ink for the printer. My wife offered to run the business while I recuperated and she is doing a great job! I know not everyone has someone to help and consider myself a lucky guy. I sure didn't want to close the store for several months.

I am very sorry to hear you had a medical emergency, but very happy to hear you are fine now. I sincerely hope your road to recovery is an easy one and complete.
I agree with you. I had a thread on this very subject last year some time. A member came to the thread all worked up because of what Ebay did to their account when they were away [medical emergency] for a few weeks. They simply couldn't or wouldn't understand why Ebay was so harsh.
I am with you and I firmly encourage everyone to have a PLAN B in place. I would also encourage written instructions too. Even do an email to your trusted person with links to where they need to go on the site to put your account on Time away and anything else you need them to do. Of course do not email them any passwords. That should always be in a secure fashion.
If your Plan B person can't ship items for you, give them instructions and links on how to see current orders, how to contact the buyers and what to say, along with how to cancel the transaction.
I hope everyone stays healthy and no emergencies arise.
Happy Holidays !!!!

First off James- Stop that!!
You are one of the good ones so we can't have that stuff happening.
But, good for you- good plan and I'm glad it all worked out.

Actually, the topic of a seller already having a plan in place rarely comes up on the boards 🤣
You're right.
Thanks to those who didn't have a plan, it inspired me to make a plan.
Now that my store is back open, when will I get sales again? 😉
Nevermind. Just got my first sale after re-opening.

Glad you're doing better now, and glad you had a plan in place! I too have a plan, though that's by virtue of me just being an employee that's partially redundant (not unneeded, just my roles here can be performed by others if needed, at least most of them). This type of reminder is always helpful, though, especially for one-man (or woman) operations where the plan has to involve something or someone not part of the business normally!

Very glad to hear you are fine & it was just a temporary setback. ER on Monday & home on Tuesday? Hope it was just a huge precaution & you were not looking at a serious health issue.
For a plan? I have no one to count on for backup. Fortunately, I've remained healthy over 60 years. Sure - it won't last but I don't worry about things that haven't happened yet.
