What is ebay going to do about this fiasco. It's unbelievable how sales just dropped off overnight a few weeks ago, and they have not gotten any better. I've been very successful here on ebay over the years, always have been one to just sit back and accept the changes, but it's very clear that everything is broken with this site. Too many issues to even start naming them, but my biggest one is that of my close to 1500 listings, in a 24 hour period, by their chart, and the views my listings are getting, i'm averaging 300 views a day on all my listings, that means that only 1/5 of my listings are even being looked at each day which is just pathetic. It's never been like this, and sales are just horrible. This is clearly an ebay problem, And not some **bleep** economy related issue. This has never happened in 20 years for me on here, and i've never been one to come here and complain at all, but something has to be done.

My grocery bill is at least 40% higher than last year. You might not believe this is economy related, but Im not buying vinyl, vintage games and collectibles like I used to, and I bet Im not the only one.

ive been on here too long to sit here and accept this is economy related.. It's not. It's clear as day that ebay has messed something up, hopefully they change whatever it was back. Something has to be done, it's obvious that something happened.

I'm pretty sure that their search function is badly broken in some areas. A recent thread pointed out that a search for a specific car part or something brought up pages and pages of vintage smut. We all tried it, and... yikes! No idea how that could even happen.
It's also the inflation issue as well though, depending on what the item is. I'm not selling many guitar parts (small replacements or upgrades) because people can't eat them and don't absolutely need them just now. I am pinching pennies myself. I wasn't in February. Good luck~

Well here didn’t exist the last time inflation was this high (1979-1981). With so many Americans who were already living paycheck to paycheck before the pandemic, why is it so hard to believe that sales of non essential goods will plummet for a while?

Same here.
Add to that utility bills that are way UP, gas pump is still shocking to see the final total and we just paid college tuition for fall - up 9.7% over last semester (spring). It is wicked out there - Cereal box still the same size, but when you open it up, it is filled appox 1/3rd of the way up and no more. Yowza! That 12 cents left over each week is not getting me very far!

Nobody's buying your stuff and it's all ebay's fault.
Gotcha.

There are still millions of Americans who don't live paycheck to paycheck and are buyers on eBay. Whatever is happening with the economy, these people have money and if for any better reason to come on eBay and get a better price than at the mall.
eBay is pay to play now. If you want sales, you should promote higher and maybe experiment with promoted listings advanced. Instead of making $100 on one sale, now you have to make $10 on 10 sales which is better than no sales.

Sales have been declining for years. I don't expect much from ebay anymore for selling my items. I will always list but never expect to sell. Ebay is never and will never be like it was. Ebay is broken.

Folks the downturn in Ebay sales is not related to the economy......as the OP has said.
Maybe with a 10-30% down that might be a valid point on a "summer / economic" slowdown"
Metrics of this particular situation do not lie........even if people slowed buying that would not account for the 80% less impressions and pay views.
The people on this forum that are complaining about 70%+ down in business from literally one day to the next is shocking. Folks we are talking about a 24 hour period when this changed.
Imagine going anywhere near a shopping mall and seeing only 30% of the people in it on the busiest day.
70% not buying but also 70% of the people physically not there.
Yesterday evening......... I needed to print a label........the 7 labels I printed an hour eariler were fine.....the one a printed last night was scrambled with no change to the computer........I tested this by trying to reprint the earlier labels.....they were also all scrambled. People reported this yesterday......I saw it the next day.
The label prints directly from ebay's api. It was broken last night and thus I was unabel to ship

Nobody wants to look at/buy what you are selling.
How is that a ebay problem?
Please explain that to me.

As you did with me, you keep telling people that their sales are down because no one wants to buy their stuff. I went months with rotten sale totals. Now, all of a sudden, I've gone 16 straight days with sales. I changed nothing in my inventory; just adding other collectibles; not necessities. Same economy. Now, for no reason at all, my items have become attractive? Just because 75 people are not lining up to buy someone's items, it does not mean no one wants them. It only takes **1** buyer. 🙂

Agreed! Does anybody want me to post pictures of my local Wally World parking lot at 1:00 p.m. on any given day? Or how about my local Best Goodbye store or Target' or Cost-Conscious stores.... Are they hiring people to park their cars in their parking lots? I'm all for being optimistic and hopeful, but these people who hold on to those rose-colored glasses, like grim death, just sometimes amazes me.
