Do think that this request for feedback is a little over the top.

I'm a seller but also at times a buyer and a poster to Ebay forums. I purchased a item from a seller who refubish parts. Other than beind told that my item had shipped but tracking showing still on there dock 6 days later I was for the most part happy. Once I emailed my concerns I got no reply but tracking shows movement the next day and I had the item a day later so only a few days past the due date.

I have not decide to give feedback but if I do I would give 5 stars as I'm not out to put a hole in anyones boat. I looked at there feedback to me and this is what I saw. "Thanks! Please leave all 5 stars or call us at ******* with any concerns" Today I get a another type of request for feedback of the following.

"Hello,

I hope our product helped you to get your ******* out of crisis. Today, you have an ability to save our business and make an impact on lives of 94 people who work at ******* – dedicating their soul and hard work to customers like you.

I kindly ask for your help, as our company has faced an incredible injustice. Due to the random Google bot trigger, we happened to have all our hard-earned reviews removed from Google, bringing it to the bottom. It’s critical to have your positive review on our page as soon as possible. We strive to continue providing the Industry Best Service, and need your help with putting it to the light. Please, take a second, and share your experience with us here or click on this link to our Google Business listing:

It takes only 5 seconds to leave a review and save our business. I will be forever grateful. Thank you in advance for helping us out!"

The choises that I will made will be that I give glowing review or feedback or no reply at all to which I will decide soon. Still is this not a little over the top in asking for feedback.

Frank

Do think that this request for feedback is a little over the top.

Too many sellers, especially newbies, fall into this trap of poking the bear.

And for some they will get feedback, but not the feedback they were hoping for.

I would ask them, what with 94 employees, why did it sit on the dock for 6 days?  Then I would tell them I was happy with the item and for feedback you aren't going to leave a neutral.  You might hint that it is usually only the 'charitable organizations' that beg so much for feedback.  Smiley Surprised

Of course, sometimes I get these ornery streaks - you might want to just ignore it.  Smiley Very Happy

Personally, I'd just ignore the message.

If I got another one, I might write back and say that I wasn't pleased with the lack of communication and sub-standard speed of service but intend not to leave feedback but would appreciate, in future, receiving a reply to my message asking for an update.

Then before I sent that, I'd consider whether I want to buy from them again. If no - send it.  If yes, delete.

OP might consider adding that when you don't leave feedback, it is to the seller's advantage that you did not do so.  It's not a good idea to ask for feedback when the transaction was not optimal in the buyer's eyes.

Perhaps focus on your internal processes for happier customers.

Yes it is over the top. I would call it a feedback guilt plea - "our employees, wrings hankie..."  Whoever sends that should make sure they are giving fast service.

I would ignore it too, but city has a point re if you want to buy from them in the future, considering the delay and no response.

Oh boy, that's "card-playing" right there - phrases meant to manipulate your emotions.

What really gets me is the "it's not our fault" nonsense in that message - big bad google did something to them randomly.  I'd like to know the rest of the story.  I bet if you google their name, you will see some bad stuff there.

1) They lied

"Once I emailed my concerns I got no reply..."

2)  They don't respond to valid concerns.

Today I get a another type of request for feedback of the following.
" It’s critical to have your positive review on our page as soon as possible. We strive to continue providing the Industry Best Service, "

3) They don't even come close to providing such Best Service.

Possible Positive (?):

Less than 5 stars for Communication, Shipping.

Gave False Shipping Time, No Responses to Messages, Good Service?

I think you know what you should do in this case. That said, I agree with everything posted so far in the replies. It is way over the top and unwarranted to boot. No need for a neutral, just go on your merry way and forget about leaving them anything. You'd be lying if you did. Good luck....

@wiener1

I'm confused.

The wording of the request sounds like they are asking for some sort of google "review".

Is this about eBay feedback, or a "review" someplace?

Maybe that would satisfy him...

Hey Frank;

I just delete these pleadings for feedback. Feedback is given by me when I get the item and know that it works according to the description. Remember to do feedback before 60 days or eBay will prevent you from doing so thereafter.

I would prob. just leave them a positive feedback saying that you were happy with the item but shipping and communication was lacking, or none at all.

I would give them a neg for slow shipping and begging for feedback.

What a guilt trip they are trying to lay on you!

Industry Best Service, really?

I don't think they are referring to Ebay feedback, it looks like they want you to write a google review.
