Display a large photo in search results with Gallery Plus($1.00)

Has anyone else noticed that eBay had defaulted and or put a check mark in the Display a large photo in search results with Gallery Plus($1.00) and are charging, even though we have been told in the past this was a choice and that a fee MAY be applied.  Now there is no choice and if you remove the check mark you still get charged???  NOT nice at all, talk about fee greedy!!

Never seen that before. Listed a couple items last week; was not the case.

We hadn't noticed until recently that the fee has been showing up in our messages "eBay has sent your payout"  View the details, and there they are!!!  35 cent insertion fee PLUS a $1.00 for the Display a large photo in search results with Gallery Plus($1.00).  Just noticed it happening at the beginning of this month?  Anyone else please?

Would you please post a screenshot of what you're seeing? I've never seen it in my listings.

The owners are Phonecoinc and they chose that ID, yes it is long!  The checked box is under the main photo, it used to be a choice.... now it is there and if you don't remove it, they can and have charged us.

Yes these things happen all sorts of ways.  Every single time we create or revise a listing we need to pay attention to several settings including this check box.

Oh, are they doing that again?  That type of thing comes and goes to keep everyone on their toes and, what-the-heck, might as well collect a few fees while they're at it.  Let's see...$1.00 times how many listings?  Even if you use 'Sell Similar", you gotta go over each spot.  Kinda like a pop quiz!

Just feel sorry for those listing 1,000's of items.  A big total coming at the best time of the year!  No mercy.

Must be the category; I'm in Ebaymotors under Parts/Accessories which was one of the categories that got reworked in October; 

Although the checkmarked one says 'fees may appy'; they never do. 

You can see if I clicked the "Display Large Picture" it would cost $2 and not just $1. 

I always check the bottom of the listing where it says 'start listing' to see if there is a fee (some of my items are in 2 categories so I pay .10c additional and either remove it or leave it).

I'm not seeing that either.  Just a thought, are you using the "sell similar" option to list items?  If you are and your original that you are copying from had that box checked, it will be checked in your new listing.

It has been exhausting,  I am the person who lists for them and didn't even see it until they had piled up a bunch of extra charges and I finally saw them in the "Your payout has been sent"  type thing.  Since I am not involved in invoicing, I hadn't been checking the detail.  You bet I am now!!  Yes they did it back in 2016 or 17 I found out through research.  Thank you all for you comments.  And yes, NO MERCY.

Thanks for your info,  we at Phonecoinc use the collector type category the most.  Revise, or relist and BIN or what we use the most.  It is uncanny how they just toss those extras in as they feel like it.

Yes I do use sell similar, but I don't ever check extras like that because we sell too many items to add extra fees, some of our items are very low price and not worth it.  But I have and will keep checking that box.

I thought I was checking too, but when the payout detail showed up lately this past month, boom!  There they are, and not on all items either!  I will keep making sure.  Thanks
