Did anybody else have an epically poor sales day? 7/26/22

Today I will have my worst sales day EVER since selling on the platform for 23 years.     As of 6 PM tonight I have had a $9.17 sales day.    Which was 98.8% less than the same period last month.

This again has me questioning what exactly is going on with the Ebay selling platform.  Sales down now well over 70%, listings and impression down in excess of 60%

No changes to to my product mix, advertising and I still have the lowest pricing in the category.

Is anybody else seeing this?

@paraquip   Yep ... being seeing it for several months ... saw an 80.5% drop in Impressions earlier this year ... this from more recently ... just and ongoing downward spiral ... its not that they are asleep at the wheel, its more like they can't find the door to get in the vehicle ...

I love Selling on eBay BUT ... "Selling" is the operative word.  I NEVER hesitate to give them credit where credit is due but this year that's been fairly slim ...

Its really mind boggling how ebay has not addressed this.  It's blatently obvious it is a problem with the ebay system, and not recession related.  WAY too many people who are valued sellers with years of selling on here, that can just tell when something is off.   And, SOMETHING IS WAY OFF.   Ebay needs to fix this ASAP, but i dont think much is going to change.  Hopeful, but doubtful.   It really feels like our listings are being throttled, and opened back up on certain days..  Something really fishy is going on, and it's really messing with peoples livelihood's who depend on this platform as income.  I have way too much invested here to give up. i just keep telling myself to keep listing, and hope for the best, but it's been SLOW..

Yeah no sales today.  I think eBay has shot themselves in the foot with the combination of multiple types of promoted listings and new A.I. Search.  Anybody can get in the first 4 search results if they pay enough and stuff enough misleading keywords.

Even if the item listed does not even come close to what was searched for and even if the seller has **bleep** poor metrics, there they are in the top 4.  Its no wonder more and more buyers are going elsewhere after giving up on search results here.

Even when very good sellers show in results with "promoted" some buyers run because of the poor results they get from other misleading promotions experiences.

Top that all off with kicking out low price finder and shop site indexer bots that many people use as part of the "views count adjustments" in May when my sales crashed by over 50% and have only slightly recovered since then.  Many feel these bots have been banned rather than simply not counted in views.

And there you have it.  EBay has to find a way to add decent seller quality control

 to promotions, bring back unfettered organic impressions, and let bots back in and return more honest organic search results or buyers will continue to move elsewhere.  I myself find searching on Google for eBay listing gives better matches as long as the google bots are not blocked

Today has been my worst day in dollar figures on sales in over three months.  If eBay was down in areas that explains it I've been scratching my head a little.  Prior to today sales had been going fairly well for me so was wondering what had happened today.  Hopefully it is all taken care of and sales are back to normal tomorrow.

My sales are down by about 54% this month.  Got a part time job to pay the bills, which it was a good choice.  You have to do what you have to do.  I am not going to rely on ebay, and the changes that continue to happen.  Most likely ebay is going to have a terrible quarter, and will continue to have very bad numbers into the future.

0 sales today, which is pretty rare for me.   Down 32% from last month.  This time of year tends to be very slow for me, but this last 2 weeks has been really bad.  Feels like worse then usual.  Also, I promote extensively & with a solid percentage > than the going rates 🤔

Sales have been OK lately averaging around my normal range of $100-200 a day. Today, it was 1 sale for $6 and some change 😋 Definitely an off day.

24 hours without a sale is noting to be alarmed about. I checked your solds and be very very happy at the business you are doing.

Nope not at all, Did $311.00 with 27 sales. Could you show us screenshots of your past 90 days showing that your down 60/70%? You can't compare sales like that in such short time periods. Hows your last 90-180 days? Year over year? I am curious to see your 90 charts to see where this 60/70% drop off in impressions went because I have not not had this issue on either of my stores. In fact my impressions, traffic and sales are very consistent.

That's only one day lol, compared to the rest of that and the prior 90 days, you seem to be very consistent. Traffic, sales and page views will always be up and down but you remain consistent. Just cause it's gone down for a few days does not mean your entire store is falling off a cliff. Wait it out and continue doing what your doing, I would not worry yourself to much about it. Now if this went on for another 3 months then I would but according to that chart you seem to be very consistent.

Just went down to the basic store, just not worth anything more. I used to sell between 2 thousand to 4 thousand a month so far this year I have been making between 200 dollars and 400 dollars a month. Sales have been declining for years and now it has finally came to roost.
