Hello. I have been buying on eBay for the last 18 years. For the past 2 i have been selling designer bags, gold, silver, etc., on the platform. I own a physical shop in LA, where I also sell.
For the past month, i have been hit with counterfeit item violations mostly for Louis. Vuitton bags. Mind you, all the bags are going through eBay authenticity department and all of my bags always pass their review and get authenticated. I always photograph actual items on sale. Make very detail’s pictures. At this point i’m just not sure what to do. I’ve reached to eBay business through Facebook but they weren’t able to help me saying that the receipt is not a proof that the bag is authentic. Then what is? So they want us to authenticate through a 3rd party before listing on eBay. I am at loss of words and frustrated. This is 3rd restriction for the past 3 weeks and eventually this account is going to be suspended.
do i close this account and simply open a new one? With the way things are going they will flag another one of my bags and flag it as fake and again suspend my account.
Open to any recommendations. Thank you.

"Can't men know about handbags too?"
Sure as long as they are LV experts like several members on the Fashion board. If they can look at detailed photos of the style, texture, construction, stitching, hardware, of a bag and determine if it is authentic or fake.

But such photos were not provided by OP on the Fashion board, sorry to say, so I doubt anyone there can make an assessment based on them.

Thank you everyone who contributed to this thread. After reading it diligently I somehow (brainstorm!) remembered that I too own a Louis Vuitton bag that I bought maybe 35-40 years ago as a weekend travel tote. I never used it much at all then maybe 4-5 times & I was shocked when for whatever??? reason the zipper broke. I took it to Louis Vuitton to be repaired and once fixed then put it way back up at the tippy top of my closet jammed in there basically never to be seen again until just now today.
Boy I damaged it. It’s all scuffed, finish now rubbed almost off and basically looks badly used and lousy.

A general comment on LV.
eBay is EXTREMELY sensitive about this brand, LV sued and won at least 4 cases against eBay in the 2000 - 2010 period, they cost eBay a lot of money.

This 3rd party authentication seems like yet another Ebay hoop to jump through. Yikes.

Even if I'm listing something that has Las Vegas in the title, I NEEEEEVER add the LV abbreviation because of this fear.

I spoke to Edlyn on the phone today. She calls herself Edz or Ed Z. She said as long as it is not fake and it has a serial number on the inside, you should be fine. I go on goodwill online and only buy the ones with certificates

Tiffany also sued and won their lawsuit against Ebay many years ago. But there are still tons of Tiffany listings here..and Ive sold a few of them myself thru the years.

I know I am late to the conversation but ebay told me that its not that its inauthentic its that you have to be an authorized seller by LV.They also told me it was notify fault that I could not have known this but they would still not remove the restriction for selling an in authentic item .I also have screen shots of this conversation with ebay .

I was selling a Goyard and I had it authenticated before listing and it did not pass the ebay authentication .So it does not matter what your intentions are . They do not treat all sellers the same. And now i am scared to list any designer items even if I buy them directly from the store .I have bought items on Ebay that have gone through authentication and re sold them and they do not pass authentication . They told meI could open a second account but i do feel like i will always have an issue

I basically have the same problem I have been accused of switching out products which I do not do I was accused of a fake invicta when it was definitely legit. He left my first negative feed back in 23 years and about 6000 transactions When and if they lift my restriction I’m thinking of either cashing out or taking fuzzy pictures like others do Personally I think eBay is just like nascar They have taken something good and turned it into **bleep**. I am very distrustful of eBay now I would guesstimate that I’ve spent around $250,000.00 on there with 100% feedback until the wiseinheimer lied and dropped me from 100 even though I offered both A partial refund or a return with 🏷️ the. I would think that I’m a valuable customer who should not be restricted for something stupid You would think that even if you did mess up you would get a stern message but not a restriction Apparently they could care less how long or how good of a customer you are. If I owned any eBay stock I would love quitter it today if a perfect 23 year relationship is worthless it makes me feel that eBay and everyone there is worthless as well.
I am torn I will never do the same volum of
