It's frustrating when ebay makes it so difficult to contact them when I have a problem. I can't even get in a chatroom to get help let alone a phone number to call!!!!

Don't call. Reach out to eBay beginning with a message on the eBay facebook page. You'll set up quick two-way (email) communication with a Rep who actually has the resources and ability to offer service. Trust me and good luck.

What if we don't use facebook? I'm using Ebay.

It is eBay for Business on Facebook or
@AskeBay on Twitter.
OR
Post your problem here with details. No personal info, just problem details.

Because Ebay uses social media for contact now,Twitter or Facebook. Unless you'd rather talk to one of the know nothing phone csr's in a foreign country?

Some sellers set up a throwaway account just for this reason. I don't 'use' facebook, either. No worries!

You can get some help here by all the moderators. Just say what is going on.
I don't use Facebook either... And calling eBay will not be of much help.

Go here: https://www.ebay.com/help/contact_us?id=4822&st=10 In the left side bar click the automated chat. When the chat window comes up, type "agent" into the chat box. You will be given a choice to use the live chat or have a call back from Ebay. Hours are from 5 AM to 9 PM Pacific time.
If you choose to have them call, make sure your phone's spam block is turned off and you are not blocking unknown numbers. If you do not have a US or Canadian phone number you will need to use the live chat.
**Hint - use the live chat. The reps seem to know what they're doing and you get a written transcript of everything that was said for future reference. When I need help (which is rare - four times in 20 years) I now use the live chat. I tried a phone call MANY years ago, when Ebay still had a call in number. It was less than helpful. The live chat was great, issues were solved in just a couple of minutes.

Most major companies have done this since the pandemic. They use it as an excuse but it's a cost savings for them. Now social media is the only way, or user forums such as this one. It's the way of the future and I don't like it either....

Agreed. Amazon was already there before 2020 and eBay, as always, following close behind.
I actually don't think all this direct connecting by sellers to eBay thru Facebook and Twitter will last more than a few years. Sellers will be expected to read the policies and agreements and make the eBay selling interface work for them with little or no help. It is just a matter of time. The forums will be one of the main avenues for eBay help as the eBay hand holding will end.
Buyers on the other hand will always have a way into eBay support.
