The emails and posts here I've read have me confused. Will folks be able to continue to sell Playboy and Penthouse after the June 15 elimination of Everything Else: Adult?
Why it's confusing is that some are posting that even a regular R-Rated or NC-17 rated DVD might not be permissible any longer, let alone vintage Playboys. Or, erotic comics. Or, any other of a number of products that contain "nudity".
Color me Confused.

Looking for clarity on the NC-17, NR & M-Rated games myself. I never saw the original notice from e-Bay. Did you receive it, based on the items you sell? If yes, was that updated to you after the 1st email? Several have posted it was - never saw any of that, etc

No, from what I understand.

Common sense suggests no. They are asking us to remove items that are much less adult that those magazines. We had to remove a cartoon book because some images were nudes. Yes, silly cartoon nude images.

Wow. So Anime will be affected as well. Pretty soon it will be "what is allowed" vs what is not. 😞

Oh gosh-- don't tell them about anime! Maybe they will think it's all AstroBoy and Sailor Moon and give it a pass!
Another seller suggested that since it seems likely that the reason for the "ban" is that these are high risk payments (especially the digital ones) that perhaps eBay could look into a high risk payment account for these catgories.
Mind you, that may mean the high risk areas may later be extended in to electronics and cell phones, etc.

Wish they would - we have a lot of anime and manga on DVD (all NR)......

If it were just a matter of "high risk" I would think that Ebay would ban the selling of numerous electronic devces, like cell phones and PlayStations as just two examples.

From my understanding all this is because the new payment processing company (located in Europe) won't take payments for these items.
This is incredibly ironic considering they openly have nudity on regular TV in Europe. Kinda throws that whole "protection of the kids" argument out the window. When over there they can just turn on basic cable and see it.

Still confused. Some folks on other threads say that Playboy & Penthouse WILL still be able to be sold on eBay in the non-adult section. When I called customer service they said no.
Still confused

if you check the restricted list, it says:
The following are examples of magazines and books that generally do not contain sexually explicit content and can be listed in the Magazines category as long as the listing does not show nude images: Playboy, Playgirl, Playguy, Mayfair, On Our Backs, Butt (magazine), Blue (magazine) Gayletter, Fantastic Men, or Penthouse

Don't ever believe anything a CS rep tells you over the phone, especially if it's in your favor and even when it isn't. You're not going to find a black and white answer - the best you can go on is the written policy (which seems to be changing daily and is about as clear as mud).
What it seems to come down to is eBay doesn't want pornography/nudity on their site. If I had a rare, collectible copy of Playboy in mint condition and wanted to sell it on eBay, I would figure out a way to list it without exposing all the bits and pieces. It's like you're going from Showtime to ABC - you're censored now.

When Ebay makes a change there are always tons of folks with conspiracies.

Except that on TV nowadays specific body parts are a ok to say now.....
