The emails and posts here I've read have me confused. Will folks be able to continue to sell Playboy and Penthouse after the June 15 elimination of Everything Else: Adult?
Why it's confusing is that some are posting that even a regular R-Rated or NC-17 rated DVD might not be permissible any longer, let alone vintage Playboys. Or, erotic comics. Or, any other of a number of products that contain "nudity".
Color me Confused.

I would say ignore the rep and focus on the policy as written. It says you will be allowed to sell Playboy and Penthouse...among others in the magazine section. However, the LISTINGS will need to be censored. No big deal. I hope that eventually, other tame pre-90s magazines will be allowed, such as Cavalier (first print Stephen King stories/Vaughn Bode comics) or Swank (first print Vaughn Bode comics and some great sci-fi/horror first prints).

The list with Playboy, Penthouse etc refers to them as EXAMPLES of permitted magazines, it is not a list of the only magazines permitted. Of course, the trick will be finding out which magazines are allowed which are not named as examples.

Had THAT issue before too when I tried to sell old Oui magazines and I got suspended even though Oui was owned and published by Playboy!

Well nudity isn't a problem. It's "sexual situations", although I suppose there is some overlap.
We see some nudity on Canadian TV too.
The infamous and hilarious "Gym after 40" sketch on Baroness von Sketch for example.
I remember Vaughn Bode. And his work is not censored? How about Frank Franzetta? He never saw a booty he didn't love.

Franzetta specialized in booties, but I doubt that eBay is going to not allow an original piece Franzetta artwork to not be sold on their site. The money is just going to be too much for them to pass up.
But for sure Franzetta artwork will definitely be the litmus test of these new eBay regulations.

I made a mistake. The artist's name is Frank Frazetta, not Frank Franzetta.

The E-Bay prude patrol is out in force today. I had a takedown notice today that a movie was being removed because it contained nudity in an adult situation. THAT'S RIGHT, JUST NUDITY.
It wasn't a porno or X-rated movie. It was a movie that just had lots of naked girls.
First, it tells me the activity that I didn't follow was listing pornographic media items outside the Adult category. Except it wasn't a porno and there was no nudity in the listing.
It goes on to explain "Adult media items with sexual content, such as nudity, and video content mean only for an adult age group, are prohibited to be listed on ebay site."
You would think they would capitalize their own name, but the takedown notice is full of grammar issues. I guess written by foreigners.
This makes zero sense to me. The new policy says I CAN LIST PLAYBOY MAGAZINES under the magazine category if there is no nudity in the listing. The magazine just features nude women. But if I CAN'T LIST PLAYBOY DVD's, with no nudity in the listing. It is not allowed because it is an adult media idea containing sexual content (nudity).
This is a total **bleep** policy implementation by E-Bay.
Then it further states I can't relist any item that would be effect by the June 15th policy change. So they are telling me I can't even relist the item in the adult category for the next two weeks, which is **bleep**.

Wrong. E-Bay stands to gain $6 billion by enforcing Adyen policy with an iron fist. Adyen policy says no adult items. If Adyen considers the art to be adult material, rest assured E-Bay will prevent the sale. Any comission they might earn is a drop in the bucket to the $6 billion Adyen is going to give them for becoming E-Bay's exclusive payment processor.

ebay slowy removed all my adult magazines I had listed on my other account in July. Just checked today and the adult section is still up and running and there are thousands of magazines for sale. The majority by two very large sellers who likely have the premium store. So glad I spent so much buying two large collections to get shut down weeks later.

Does anyone have a list of the banned Playboy and Penthouse magazines? Seems rather random only to learn from getting nasty notices from e bay.

This thread is over 2 years old and will most likely be locked. It's always a good idea to start your own thread should you have any concerns or questions. Here's a link that may better explain and give you info concerning your question:
https://www.ebay.com/help/policies/prohibited-restricted-items/prohibited-adult-items-policy
Bottom line....I wouldn't list them here on eBay.
Happy Sales!
