Well, it's that time of year again---when, in the interest of transparency and seller engagement, I make my perennial request for ebay to tell us in advance:
1. Will there be a Fall Seller Update this year?
2, And when will it be? so that we can make our plans to be around when it launches if we want to.
Last year's Fall Seller Update was announced on Sept 27th, so presumably we are in the general time period right about now.
Thanks in advance.

yep, about time.........maybe an announcement of eliminating fees....like the UK??????

Well, that would certainly make for an interesting Fall Update!!
But whatever is in the Update (if there is one), it would be nice to know. We are in Q4 right now. It has started. And it would sure be good to know if ebay has changes they want to announce, especially any that will take effect in Q4. I realize not all sellers view Q4 as the "big one" but many do, and the sooner we know what ebay is doing, the better.
And of course, I might as well add my annual plea for an actual Holiday Marketing campaign for the site. We haven't had one since Jamie took over, and, while ebay won't agree, I feel sure the failure to market the site as whole, rather than just a Focus Category or two, has been a HUGE Christmas gift..... to competing sites.
So, devon@ebay , it would be great to also hear any Holiday marketing plans ebay would care to share with us, their partners.

Honestly, they've done enough this year. I'd say pause the update and fix the glitches.

They've been updating all summer and would only tell us after the fact.

Yes, they have been. But they generally have at least two "Seller Updates" per year (sometimes more) and this is the time of year they generally do a Fall Update. It might just rehash some of the stuff they've been testing or already released, but it could also contain significant changes. For example, non-business sellers on the ebay UK site just learned that they will not longer have to pay fees (with some exceptions). While I don't expect to see that announced on the US site anytime soon (if ever), if something like that were announced, some sellers would likely change their Q4 plans to some extent. So it is good to know when they are going to announce and to study the announcement once it comes. Sometimes the changes aren't very significant, sometimes they are significant. There are links to older Updates in the "Seller News" drop down above.

Could one of you address the questions here? It would be good to get some information on this ASAP, since we are already in Q4. Please? Pretty please?

Hey @my-cottage-books-and-antiques! Just stay tuned!

Thanks.
So, that is a "yes" to my first question (Will there be a Fall Seller Update)?
And, that is a "next week" as to my second question? Or is that a "later today"?
Just wanna make sure I'm not misinterpreting anything here.

Well, I've been "staying tuned" for about two weeks now.
Maybe , in the interest of seller engagement and transparency, ebay could provide something a little more precise, given that "stay tuned" appears to be so ambiguous as to be effectively meaningless.
Whaddaya say, devon, how about throwing us a bone here? When will it be? (Or will it not be at all?)

Folks, I must agree with my learned colleague above that "stay tuned" is an answer with a shelf life of two days, not two weeks. You have got to be able to speak freely enough to give some idea of the answers to the original questions. If people within the company are not answering your emails, then pick up the phone, or escalate the issue, or something.
If you don't have the authority to speak for the company when you are, after all, the Community contacts, then something needs to change. Please kick our requests up to the next level and ask them to respond for you. In the current situation, this is just not helping anyone, including yourselves. Thank you!

I'm guessing ebay can't get their act together.....

Hey @my-cottage-books-and-antiques! If I could I would throw out the bones to you all!

Wouldn't be the first time would it?
