So I am very angry at this point. A few weeks ago I was suspended from ebay for 2 weeks for receiving an offer in my messages. Even though I rejected the offer; ebay still suspended my account. Now that is utter **bleep** in and of itself. Now today I am even angrier. I got an email saying that my bank account has reached zero dollars and now I owe a fee of 15 dollars to my bank. Who charged my bank account? well it was ebay. I received a final value fee of 60 dollars for an item that I didn't even sell. That is purely ridiculous and I have no intention of paying this amount. It doesnt help that ebay customer service is almost impossible of getting ahold. If someone could message me about this that would be great.

I just got a warning also and am on notice that the next time I will be charged a fvf for the item. I didn't sell off site and thought my message to the potential buyer was clear, but I guess not. Now I'm afraid to even answer questions.
@fern*wood, if you don't mind sharing, what did you say to your buyer that still resulted in a warning?

Em, there have been threads about this. Buyer and Seller both receive a reprimand, warning, and/sanctions. A warning comes first. The buyer may be sanctioned by losing communication privileges through Ebay messaging, and may be temporarily suspended/losing buying privileges, just as a seller may be sanctioned as well, just in different ways.
No one gets off scot free; although there seem to be a lot of assumptions that this is so~lots of upset and protest~much ado about nothing since the facts were not known. I've seen the threads by buyers so sanctioned.

Maybe ebay shouldn't assume things. I have my Item still listed on my account again so there's some sort of proof that I didn't sell it. As well as all my replies to the scammers telling them I wouldnt sell outsside of ebay. Why did you remove the listing then?
OP, you may have missed this post. With all due respect, may I ask why did you remove the listing? Thank you in advance.

Buyers just create a new ID anytime they want, no worry about sanctions on messaging.

Yes my inclination was to ignore the email, but I believe a blue stated that you should tell the buyer, no, you will only sell on ebay.
But in this case I wonder if the emails had anything to do with it but that the seller was previously warned.

Both had something to do with it. The first time, as you said, you are warned, the next time, sanctions and fees set in.

Sorry, but while they can create a new id, it doesn't mean they will or do, anymore than sellers do when they are sanctioned, or there wouldn't have been posts by buyers upset over being sanctioned.

Not everything is one size fits all. Ersatz is right that some buyers won't care and will create a new ID if they run into warnings. You are right that some buyers would rather keep one ID. Arguing about who's right and wrong is pointless. You're both right.

That poster was referring to when you did remove the listing, not to the re list that you have up now.

@fern*wood I think it was advised that if you got the warning, you should call into CS, have them read your messages, and explain that you DID NOT sell off site. They will mark your account with that (get the conversation reference number). They will not remove the warning, I believe so they have a record that you were warned and made aware should something else occur. But you will have it on record and that may be needed if there is another occurance. I hope you find this helpful. You are a great seller and shouldn't be afraid to answer your messages if you aren't doing anything wrong, and you aren't doing anything wrong. I know that.

That's very interesting. Please share how you know these message were from bots.

BUT if they relisted it, that means it was never sold, right? Either On ebay or OFF.
As has been said, OP may have had more than one, or if there was to be an off ebay sale, it might have fallen through. Ebay never said it would be proven that an off ebay sale took place, and there would be no way for them to do that. So it is the appearance of taking sales off ebay that is enough to generate the suspension and the fee as if the item sold, and Ebay was up front about this when they instituted this, it was all over the Boards and in Chat for quite some time, sorry it seems that was missed.

brian are you able to go into a seller or buyers ebay PMs and read the back and forths that took place? When I chatted with trinton last week I believe he said he and ebay CS were allowed into accounts to review things that might or might not have taken place...Yes. I've had occasional conversations with eBay people in the past where they have clearly been reviewing the messages, including while I was conversing with them on the phone.
a_c, I have as well.

As you can see, the point of my post was to show exactly that. I wasn't arguing, just pointing out the obvious, refuting that every buyer will just create a new id, because that simply isn't true.

Is the $15 an overdraft fee? Why didn't you review the billing notice eBay sent before the automatic payment was processed? You would have seen that you were going to be charged a fee for this and could have deposited additional funds before the charge was processed several days later.
Actually that is a rather low overdraft fee.
