Category Breadcrumbs - moved into item specifics

We've all been lamenting the loss of category breadcrumbs from the top of the item page, and talking about how difficult it is to get to the bottom of the page with near-endless loading of sponsored ads.

Spotted this change today:

Category path was removed from the bottom of the page and added to item specifics. It's an improvement.

I want to find an item listed in 2 categories so I can see what that looks like. Anybody have an example handy?

Edit: Never mind - I just remembered gurlcat's alarm clock necklace.

Honestly, I think that's more logical than the top of the page, though it'll still be an adjustment for those who used it often. Thanks for reporting on it!

Can you post a screenshot? I see them in item specifics on classic web.

Are you looking on classic web or mobile web or app? I haven't checked mobile web or app yet today.

Here is an item listed in only 1 category, and it is ALSO showing at the top

It's better than the bottom of the page and there is some logic to putting it in IS, but if I were to improve upon it, I'd give it the full length of the item specifics box across the bottom for one long skinny strip, rather than crunched up into one of the 2 columns and split into multiple lines. It would read better that way.

Yeah, I'm not seeing it at the top on either of the links you posted.

That is better, although I'm not seeing it yet so I guess it's a gradual roll-out?

I noticed that today.

Wasn't sure if it was new, or just hadn't seen it yet.

I like that a lot better then at the bottom.

Haha that's because they are your own listings @stainlessenginecovers . We all see them at the top of our own listings. Gotta look at someone else's listings. 😁

@wastingtime101  could be (seeing 'own' listings); here is the lower portion of the 2 category item in the 'Item Specifics' not showing it

@wastingtime101  checked that shipping supplies listing in two different accounts across two different browsers both logged in and incognito and not seeing it in the Item Specifics, so I would say it's probably a test or phased rollout - but definitely an improvement I hope they keep!

Edit to add: I also scrolled all the way to the bottom and still see the categories there in all the account/browser combos I tried.
