True. BBL and move on. Not worth the time to grieve over it.

Why would a buyer submit a cancellation request if they were interested in trying to get a lower price?
If the customer submitted a cancellation request immediately, just cancel it.

No need to over think it.

Happens all the time as the Buyer receives a confirmation of their order and it includes listings of similar items that may or may not (often) be the same as what you just sold them.
1. BBL
2. Cancel and auto re-list
3. SELL to a better Buyer
Rinse/repeat. Good luck!

I would ask them who is offering the lower price and verify it if you want to try and save the sale. If not just cancel and move on.
Being in commissioned sales for many years besides selling on ebay. When a client indicates they have found a better deal I always ask where did they find it from and to send me a copy of the estimate. The estimate does 3 things.
1. Make sure were are comparing apples to apples and not apples to oranges. Very common I see apples to oranges.
2. Calls the clients bluff if they are bluffing.
3. See the price they got. Most times I could match it, if not just be honest with the client let them know what the best you do and let them know no hard feelings if they take the better deal. Sometimes they will stick with you. I've learned from experience you can't win them all.

I suspect a clueless buyer that bid first and then shopped for price. Like pillage and burn. Got to do it in the correct order.

i cancelled but for a min wanted to reach out to see it I can price match and then stopped myself thinking „ you bought it knowing there is better price? (Since cancel came immediately?) or maybe you bought it counting Iwill offer better price”. I was just wondering what you (all sellers) do if you try keeping customer?

I understand. I personally haven't tried to keep them in this situation. Ebay pops up similar items when they buy, so that's probably how they found one cheaper.

Agreed. They're just choosing a reason to cancel from a drop-down box. Does not make their reason true or valid, just the one they chose.

Which eBay really should not be doing. I guess the idea is they just saved buyer 10 cents on an item in comparison that is worth half the value as the one you are selling. (so buyer loses in long run and so do you). Then the buyer can spend that extra 10 cents along with another dollar to make more money for themselves. Sometimes being ethical does not pay, ask eBay.

I don't try to keep them. I am constantly getting msgs telling me they found my item cheaper. Oftentimes they send a link to the cheaper price. I'm not Walmart. I don't price match. I know what my service is worth & if they found what they think is a "cheaper" one, well it probably is cheaper, in every way shape & form & they should go buy it LOL.
