Just sold an item and they asked for verification...even though I've been selling for years and just haven't been doing so the last. So eBay wanted my steal my personal data.
I placed my legal name as they asked, but noticed that my ebay name had changed to it. If I change it back to my ebay nickname in account settings will it screw up the verification process.
I'd call up ebay, but every time I do the people in the Philippines have no idea what I'm trying to say.
Thank you

To answer your title: NO
Of course Phillipines have no idea what you are saying- neither do I for the rest of the babble. You need to be more precise.
What 'name'? The ebay ID name? or your Name on your Driver License/Passport.
If you go by Ron and your name on ebay is Ron and your bank account has Ronald- you have to change your name on ebay to match that bank info. Then you submit the bank info. Then you wait to get 'approved' and then you wait again (up to 30 days- hold (google ebay holds) to get the $$.

Maybe you should get a job with them.

You need to go to SHORTCUTS, SITE PREFERENCES, PERSONAL INFORMATION (update with your LEGAL NAME/ADDRESS).
Federal law requires all online marketplaces report your income to the IRS. EBAY requires to you provide your checking account# and social security#. NAME on your checking account, social security card and EBAY profile page must be EXACT MATCH.
Reason EBAY needs your checking account# is because they deposit money directly into your account after sale is made.

Where do you find "short cuts" on desktop?

might be the same as "Account Settings" in the dropdown next to your name in the header on most non community pages.

If they use Seller Hub, not everyone does.

Maybe you should explain it better instead of insulting a member volunteer.
