I am so tired calling and complaining that I cannot view my store--for months now. I just recently found out I can't view your stores either.

With sales being down and so many items going unsold it sure would be nice to receive some free listing promotions about now!

While the smokescreen from Washington tells everyone about the booming economy, it is not what I am seeing. There is a strip mall where I go several times a week to buy groceries at the grocery store. Besides that place there are 5 other places, an empty CVS store(they moved), a bankrupt Radio Shack, a major department store that closed, and a cabinet store(closed after 25 years). The other place is a dollar type store, doing pretty well. I have been on ebay over 20 years, have been selling the same type items since the beginning, my sales are off 20% to last year, and last year was odd 15% to the previous one. The last good year I had was 2007.
While I am getting more and more competition, ebay itself has turned into who wants to lose money to make a sale

I get more concerned every day with the direction ebay is going. I have never had so many watchers and so few sales so I do not understand this. It used to be if you had several watchers you were likely to get a sale. Judging by what I read in their earnings report I believe they are trying to eliminate the smaller sellers and go with the stores or high volume sellers. My fear is they are doing this by giving limited visibility to these sellers so they will not have sales and give up. I may be way off base on this but then why are sales so slow for this group and apparently so good for the bigger sellers? What are the alternatives? Any hope out there?

But it isn't working for them. Quarter after quarter their number are barely there. Look at Ebay's stock price and then look at Amazon's stock price. Amazon has always sold their own products unlike Ebay and they haven't abandoned their core business. They have expanded into many other areas. I mean they are going into space for crying out loud. No, Ebay has just had loser after loser in the captains chair that has no clue what Ebay was or is and they have no clue where it's going.

Well, the search engine and not being able to pay at checkout have to be factored in also.

They're dying. Have lost sight of what got them where they are.

@packers.1 wrote:This was my thought too. I saw this in Home Video. The Supliers wanted to "circle the wagons" get the big accounts identified so they can go direct with them and bypass the middle man. Once this is done you will see the little store fade away due to price. The smaller stores will not be able to compete because the playing fieled is not even. This would be true for New items. This would not work for Used. If the stock price keeps going down then eBay becomes more attractive as a buy for a larger suplier. Like what? Google?
If that was the case, why would they be spending LOTS of money sending thier staff to the UK, or sending over 30 staff to Akron, Ohio or Lansing, Michigan for that matter... I was there for the Lansing event. I suggest you all who are complaining look at what YOU can do better once in awhile, instead of blaming eBay everytime. I know they make mistakes but, are you serious? https://www.ebay.com/b/Retail-Revival/bn_7070730619
