Buyers sending an offer asking me to text them

Not new to on line selling but new here. I have had 3 potential buyers send me an offer at full list price but then in the comment section there will be something like "

just a question about this item kindly text me on this number"

I have responded to each to send me a email with their questions. I am just trying to find out if anyone else has experienced this type of activity.

Never ever text a 'buyer'. All messages go through eBay. Scammers start with texts.

It's a scam. They want your text number so they  can send you a fake text that you have been paid, hoping you will fall for it. As an added bonus scam, they will ask you to send it to a different address to someone as a gift and ask you to buy gift cards to include in the package. All of which they will not pay for. Don't fall for it. Just ignore these scams. One way you can tell it is a scam, it never mentions the thing you are selling, they say "your item". So they can copy and paste this message over and over to sellers. Just ignore communications like this.

Kindly text me is scammer verbiage.  Next they'll want your email address and then you'll get a fake payment. Keep all correspondence on eBay.

I got one of those too and they where asking me if I could email PayPal or whatever for the transaction to go through and I felt like that would have been a scam so I just didn't do it

Every offer I get has a request for me to first text them, ostensibly to "answer a question". 

I decline all these. 

So, I've sold nothing yet.

These scammers most often target new listings and new unexperienced sellers.

You will most always get a full price offer for an item ...however they will not follow through with a purchase... They ask you to Text them at a nomber to ask questions and discuss payment.... It smells of a SCAM

Just decline the offer and do not waste your time on any comment.... Yo will see this often in the beginning...

Not happening. NEVER communicate outside of eBay if they can ask the question in a text they can ask it in eBay communication channels. Simply ignore it and personally I would add them to my BBL.

i also get a lot of  "offers to buy" w/ request to text by phone . . . yes, a scam but often they get "canceled" with an email from ebay titled "bid change notice" is this ebay canceling the bib?

Same here! I'm new to this though.. I knew not to text them but haven't even had stuff posted for a month and I've had two people try this,..

They target new sellers.
