I have had several buyers recently who won one of my items but never paid. Are any of you having the same problem? I have blocked the buyers who did not pay, but I suspect some might have several accounts.

Great Qs. I could swear (decades ago) I had altered my eBay settings so buyers with multiple non-payment strikes could no longer participate in my auctions, but after reviewing those settings recently, I noticed the settings were at the default settings. Not sure if maybe a policy update or feature update affected my original settings, but I’ve made sure to change the settings so those with “2 or more non-payments in 12 months” can’t participate in any of my auctions.

@midwestdistributors wrote:I rest my case… the very words in your last reply, prove that reporting/giving strikes to repeat/habitual non-payment buyers, isn’t as intuitive or as clear as it could or needs to be…ie/eg…newer sellers would have no idea that sending invoices “resets the 96hr clock.” Also, a lot of new sellers will likely cancel the sale & unknowingly skip the steps for reporting a buyer for non-payment.
I agree about the sending invoice part, but not the balance of the rule. It is a fantastic rule that works very well for sellers that use it. And for those sellers that have their Buyer Requirements set to 2 in 12 months, they get blocked from buying. If sellers worked together more on this subject we would really help each other to decrease this problem.

Don't forget the two NEW settings in Buyer Requirements as I showed upthread.

Yes, they have only been there less than a month.

Last year if we got one out of 100 sales that didn't pay that was a lot but in the last 6 months there has been a Rash of Non-Payers at least 3 or 4 a week sometimes more guess You can say "You Know What" Bidenomics Its Working"

I've had more non paying buyers in 2 months than I had over a 10 year span. I have mine set to the 2 unpaid and they're blocked but sold something a few weeks ago and his last 2 feedback said "deadbeat never paid" and those were in his past month part of feedback.

I have posted about the new changes to the Buyer Requirements. You should seriously consider looking at them as they will resolve you issue. @selsa84

no ..ebay is simply dumping their cards out of payment methods . its most annoying. and then ebay feels free to 'censor' your messages to the seller when you attempt to give them a heads up . and actually refuse to send the messages. what nerve! it was enough for me to resolve never to use ebay again. its been about a month now ebay wont even let you leave

really? maybe its not their fault but ebays. idk if a different browers has to be opened up to pay, or maybe IE dont care either, i sent note explaining the issue then walked away.. dont bother contacting 'help' they are as untrained as any i have dealt with , i got tired of spending hours with these baloney-heads

maybe,.. just maybe ebay can pull its head out and fix the 'glitch' that is causing non payment? and rest assurred there IS one.. the computer whiz kids ebay uses havent figured it out yet, ebay is hemmorraging users almost as if on purpose.

If you're trying to close your account there's a certain period of time (I think 60 days) before the closure actually takes effect - it's to ensure all buy and sell transactions are completed.

It is NOT a "glitch", the program is working how it was designed.
Ebay has figured it out no matter how much mud you want to sling their way. They have been testing if for a few months now. It will likely be in the next couple of months when it goes site wide. But that is a guess on my part, they may hold it off until after the Holiday season.
Have you looked at your Buyer REquirements in the past month or so. It has changed. While the option are on your Buyer Requirements they are NOT yet active for anyone except the buyers and sellers in the Test Group.

eBay is also in a situation where they need to make sure any unscrupulous sellers/buyers, that attempt to run scams, can't delete their accounts fast and disappear without a trace... which would greatly hinder eBay from getting back the money/goods the scammer/s stole. eBay also likely requires 60 days to close an account, so buyers/sellers have ample time to work out any transactions that went South, due to buyer/seller disagreement.

It sounds like the seller who left that particular FB did NOT cancel, citing "bidder did not pay" as the reason.
And I am sure you know as well as the rest of us that that FB violated eBay's rules and should have been reported to eBay by that buyer.
