I have a buyer that received an item that worked perfectly for me, but it does not work for them. The buyer has over 900 positive reviews for buying, and is very respectful to me, so I'm inclined to believe them. My question is, how could this happen?
It's an 5 disc changer, packaged well in box with only bubble wrap, and the buyer claims the box came undamged. could the buyer's claim for the non-damaged box be inaccurate? if not, how could the item be damaged? how could it just stop working when received by the buyer?

One hard jolt could damage it with no damage to the box, Ive had that happen a couple of times.

You do know what you need to do about this, right?
Had to ask because you did not mention it in your message.

It absolutely could be damaged. Some players like that I recall my husband saying usually have some type of locking mechanism to protect it during shipping. Electronics can be a tough item for many reasons.

Certainly can happen.......and even if it didn't, buyer needs to file for a return and you need to accept it........
