Bubble Wrap scammers?

I've ordered large amounts of bubble wrap 7 times in the past yer or so.
Three times, the seller did not send the full order.
I'm curious if they figure that the buyer won't actually measure it all when we're talking about over 150'.

The seller(s) never responds to messages.

And since I actually need the bubble wrap for my business, I can't wait around to return it all and wait for a refund etc.

I I got 2 orders in yesterday (from 2 different sellers, different bubble wrap types), and the BOTH were short. One by 120', other by 25'. These aren't low feedback sellers. One has over 200k, one is at 1.5k

Anyone else experience this?

Re: Bubble Wrap scammers?

@recycle_pc   No but then I do not buy Bubble Wrap on eBay ... I would suggest you consider other sources as well if you are not getting what you paid for nor willing to file a return to get your money back ...

Re: Bubble Wrap scammers?

How horrible to not have back-up orders in these cases! Maybe order from other USA sellers on top of the ones you usually make. If you use this much, too much won't be a problem-it won't expire!  Those rotten sellers need to be called out on their habitual screwing of buyers. If it happens to you, it sure happens to others!

With back-up supplies coming you can then just open an Item Not as Described case. They must be busted on this!    No, this hasn't happened to me but would not just take it.  If nobody complains they will just keep doing it. Shame on them for not replying. But I'm sure they will the second you open cases against them. Good luck!

Re: Bubble Wrap scammers?

Try Uline.  They can be pricey, but good customer service.  You can get smaller batches like that.  You will save a lot more if you buy in bulk though.  I pay around 10-13 cents a square foot for my bubble wrap.  Could get cheaper stuff, but I buy the higher quality stuff.

Re: Bubble Wrap scammers?

There's a seller that notoriously short-changes buyers on bubble wrap and I can see you left feedback for them recently. I don't know if this is still the case, but they used to fight refunds because they claimed the bubble was used when buyers unrolled to measure then re-rolled less than perfect. I won't give that seller my money.

I'm not familiar with the other seller you purchased from.

Ya gotta read the feedback on bubble wrap sellers - it will clue you in to the ones who short-change. I think a lot of buyers are too lazy to measure, or too naive to think about it so feedback will only show a smaller fraction of those who were shorted on their orders.

In my experience, this seller always provides the quantity advertised. I am not affiliated with them in any way other than I've been a satisfied buyer.

Re: Bubble Wrap scammers?

Yep..........neither of the suppliers mentioned......but on 500' ordered.........shorted about 20' per roll......only the 2nd neg I think I've ever left since 2004 was removed.....I did get a refund and wasn't forced to return.......so came out ahead........but now I'm skittish about buying any........

@recycle_pc

Many of the seller's (your 200K seller) neg feedback is auto scrubbed.

Buyers that return the bubble wrap for their 50% refund leave less than + feedback, but as that seller is TRS, and accepts returns they earn the perk of being protected from the negative feedback.

Re: Bubble Wrap scammers?

Considering the shipping cost plus fees, it's hard to imagine how the can make money selling bubble wraps on Ebay.

I got mine from my local Sams Club. They sell a roll of 240' $12.99. Sometimes they have promotion at $9.99.

Re: Bubble Wrap scammers?

Some things are not meant to sell by mail order.

Anvils come to mind.

And now we can add bubblewrap. Dimensional shipping would be a problem.

Buying locally, if at all possible is the best choice.

Those are ridiculous shortages and frankly could not be accidental.

File an SNAD every single time. Make them pay for return shipping.

Put them on your Watch List with a DO NOT BUY note.

We really do need a Blocked Sellers List.

Re: Bubble Wrap scammers?

I'm with gwpcomps on Uline.  There is one in Allentown, not a long drive from you.  If you have a truck or SUV, you can get 2 hugmongus rolls in plus some smalls such as tape, labels, boxes, etc.  Where I am I only have to make a run about every 9 months or so.  They have a catalog on line of various size bubble wrap and also ship.  You can also order ahead for pickup.

Costco is good, too, but I don't hit a lot of their sales and it might take a bunch of rolls to get enough.

The ones on eBay are generally noted for shorting you.

Re: Bubble Wrap scammers?

I bought my last batch at Sam's club, but they only allow 5 rolls for the 9.99 price.

The ebay bubble wrap went from about $22 to $30+ in the past month so the sams club bubble wrap a better deal plus considering you don't really get a true 700 feet from the ebay sellers.

Re: Bubble Wrap scammers?

I use exactly 100' of bubble wrap for my projects, so I know when a roll is short. Out of three orders none of them was full. The last one was short by 7'. The only way to get it right of these crooked sellers is repeatedly report them to Ebay.  Hopefully they will be banned from Ebay.

Re: Bubble Wrap scammers?

I've had it happen. The worst incident was not only short by 100 feet but it was supposed to be a roll and it came all wadded up with half the bubbles busted.

Re: Bubble Wrap scammers?

I do buy my boxes from Uline, but don't want to pay the insane shipping for their bubble wrap. I think I found a good supplier about 35 min drive from my place.
