Did you mean:

Bid and make offer.

I've listed an item on auction with make offer.

Someone has made an offer which I'm considering.

In the meantime, if someone places a bid, does that automatically end the offer I'm considering ?

Tia.

If you have an auction-style listing with Best Offer, bear in mind that:

  • If you receive a bid, current offers and counteroffers will be declined automatically and buyers won't be able to make any additional offers on your item
  • If a bidder retracts their bid, the Best Offer feature will be re-enabled
  • If you received an offer that was higher than the current bid, the buyer who made the offer will have to place a bid
  • This option isn't available in these categories: Cell Phones, Motors, Real Estate, Tablets, and Tickets

Not sure if it's the same in the UK?

Bid and make offer.

What do you mean ?

Are you saying they made an offer via the listing, or they sent you a message?

It's been awhile since I've listed auctions, but it use to be If you accept the offer, the listing ends.

Bid and make offer.

I got 3 old offers on my only auction item via Ebay. $30, $80, $80 from Nov. 10, same day listing started.

I guess after 48 hours they are not valid to respond.

Bid and make offer.

It depends on the category too, if that’s still in play.

Everyone has options. Just be sure the best option is right for you.

Hmmm, I had forgotten that little part of the policy.  I'm trying to imagine telling a prospective buyer who wants my widget for a price I'm willing to accept that she/he will have to place a bid, then wait up to 7 days to see what happens.

She/he has already decided to buy the widget, johnny on the spot, and will she/he believe me when I say it's ebay policy or will she/he think I'm trying to get more money out of her/him?

OMG, I just googled "johnny on the spot" and the first thing returned was a Porta Potty rental company.  laughing

Yes. and I am even surprised that ebay lets the offer go through anyway since it is their policy.

Lift your left leg at midnight to start off on the right foot. Happy new Year!
