Why is there no compulsory method put in place for buyers to leave Feedback?
it is an integral part of ebay.

You might float this thought on the UK board, since it has been beat to death over here.

Generally, if you 'force' a customer to provide feedback, you are actually FAR more likely to get negative feedback.

No one is required to leave feedback ever. With feedback for a seller, no news is good news.

And what compulsory method would you suggest?
eBay takes back the item they purchased?
They aren't allowed to buy anything else until they leave feedback?
I think some folks just get overly fixated on feedback. Just provide good product and service, be polite even when your customers are testy, and feedback will take care of itself.

I find it odd that people say to check the sellers feedback, might be the same ones that say feedback doesn't matter. LOL 🙂 Not saying it is the case in any reply here, just an observation.

Hello,
Feedback is crucial to our business success. For me, I personally focus on things that would encourage buyers to leave feedback. For example, making sure you are listing great quality products and the descriptions are accurate. In addition, I also make sure to ship as soon as possible. When I first started, I would also write a personal thank you card and place this in all of my packages. it took a little longer but I think the percentage of feedback increased exponentially.
Just a few thoughts.
Be Blessed.

I write "Thank you" across the bottom of the invoice when I send one.

Feedback is VOLUNTARY for both buyers and sellers.
It is NOT COMPULSORY for either buyers or sellers.

Because no other internet selling website forces a buyer to do this.
Because no Brick & Mortar store forces a buyer to do this.
Because you may not like the feedback you get.
Because asking this is nothing less than completely absurd.
ps. never start a sentence with 'because', but this thread required such....

Re Because no Brick & Mortar store forces a buyer to do this.
Feedback for B&M is by word of mouth along with any press or reports to the BBB they get and generally is local to the store, unlike eBay that is world wide.
While should not be compulsory, it is nice to read and get so we know that we are doing a good job. It would kinda hard to go the BBB or one of the other sites to see how seller X stacks up.

How could they?
If they made it compulsory, what should happen for someone who just doesn't leave it?
