I know this has been mentioned many times in THE PAST !!! BUT this IS NOW and IT'S TIME SOMETHING BE DONE ABOUT IT !!! We SELLERS RELY on THIS FEEDBACK and WE are NOT GETTING IT !!! BUYER RATINGS are ALMOST ALWAYS at 100% !! Well I BELIEVE EVERY TIME a PURCHASE is MADE and NO FEEDBACK is LEFT by THE BUYER that 100% SHOULD GO DOWN !!! JUST LIKE a SELLERS RATING CAN FALL so SHOULD a BUYERS !! EBAY NEEDS to BUG THE BUYERS to LEAVE FEEDBACK !!! NOT JUST DO NOTHING ABOUT IT !!! SERIOUSLY , 20% , 30% , 40% FEEDBACK is PATHETIC !!! And IS NOT in REALITY a FAIR PRACTICE to BASE ANY BUSINESS ON !!! IF WE SELLERS GET JUST ( 1 ) NEGATIVE FEEDBACK IT STAYS on OUR SELLER RATING for OVER a YEAR !!! ( LOL ) AGAIN , THIS is NOT a FAIR PRACTICE for ANY BUSINESS and TOTALLY BOGUS !! IMAGINE IF WE COULD LEAVE FEEDBACK for EBAYS OVERALL PERFORMANCE ( LOL ) !! DO SOMETHING ABOUT THE BUYER FEEDBACK !! IT IS NOT a CREDIBLE PERFORMANCE RATING BUT YET SO MUCH IS PLACED ON IT !!! LIKE PEOPLE'S LIVELIHOOD !!! WAKE UP and CHANGE THIS ( MALPRACTICE ) !!!

Well I BELIEVE EVERY TIME a PURCHASE is MADE and NO FEEDBACK is LEFT by THE BUYER that 100% SHOULD GO DOWN !!!
And what point would there be in a buyers feedback + %age going down if they were remiss in leaving feedback.
Generally I never see a buyers feedback %age until I get a notice that an item has sold. I do fixed price with IPR 99+ % of the time.
If I do an auction, am I going to monitor it to see if a bidder has failed to leave feedback for a purchase sometime in the past????
If a buyer that does not leave feedback bids near the end of an auction when I am not sitting there transfixed to the action, and wins, am I going to cancel the transaction, and refund????
I want my buyers to pay. I want my buyers to get what they paid for. After that I do not need to have/want to have any more connection with them unless they wish to make another purchase.

Since your rant & similars rants are continual posted over and over adm over again ever since I've been an eBay member (2008) and not much has has changed on eBays FB policy except for a tweek or two.
With that being said an old adage might apply "Why (continue to)** Beat A Dead Horse"
** I added that part.
Or another proverb fromvery long time ago (1600's) might be also apply "If wishes were horses beggars would ride".

Many now buy as a "guest", and as do not leave feedback.
Maybe you should message your buyers over, and over until they leave feedback for you, and be sure to use lots of caps so that they get the message.
HAHAHA!!!
Plus sellers can be sure to get positive feedback after all that harassment LOL

And I'd rather no feedback neutrals or negatives

At no time did I refer to or was I referring to myself in my post about feedbacks !!! Everyone just ASSUMES that including yourself !! What I did say is that you don't BASE someone's selling abilities on less than a 30% FEEDBACK !!! That is just plain ludicrous !! Next time you make a purchase of any kind , anywhere I fully expect YOU to tell everyone in the store about the TIME in took you to get your ITEM , the COST to get your item , HOW well it was COMMUNICATED to YOU and WAS YOUR ITEM well DESCRIBED !!! and IF NOT then LEAVE NEGATIVE FEEDBACK to the store and EVERYONE in it before you leave !!! ( LOL ) Oh that's right you won't do that in public !!! But its ok to do it where no one can see or hear you !!! EBAY has all the info needed to assess what kind of seller YOU are !! FEEDBACK is nothing more than a harmful tool to sellers that is NOT NEEDED !!
10-16-2018 01:15 AM
First and Foremost !!! Don't Ever Tell Me What To Do !! YOU wouldn't do it to MY FACE !! So don't do in here !! And if I wish to express myself in this forum regarding a Subject, I WILL DO IT !! I am not some forum groupie that feels the need to respond to people in the NEGATIVE WAY YOU chose to respond to me !! EBAY has all the info needed to tell people if YOU are a very good or very poor seller !! And FEEDBACK is nothing more than a WORTHLESS tool that NEEDS to be ABOLISHED !!! YOU don't post a 30% FEEDBACK to the world !! It's either 100% or NOTHING !!

It's clear you know nothing about feedback. You CAN NOT leave NEGATIVE or NUETRAL feedback for a buyer.
Period.
That's why I don't leave feedback. And, I don't ask for it. I haven't since the day they took away the ability to leave the SAME FEEDBACK as a buyer. The only time I leave feedback now is when I get a request to do so. I then have this cut and paste I send the buyer before leaving the FB.:
THE UNFAIR EBAY FEEDBACK PROCESS
Hello. Most large sellers don't normally leave feedback unless requested like you have done. The reason being is the entire feedback system is a joke. It's one sided and unfair. Where you aware that a SELLER can NOT leave a NEGATIVE or even a NUETRAL feedback for a BUYER?
That's correct. That option for the seller was removed about eight years ago. So even the slowest, rudest, nonpaying BUYER can NEVER have less than 100% feedback. So what exactly is the point of the entire feedback system unless it works the same for both parties? Wouldn't you agree? So someone like myself that feeds his family and pays his bills by selling has a lot to loose when new people, and kids leave a negative because the post office mis-delivers a package or damages the contents in one.
Or someone who can barely speak English can't read a listing properly and thinks they're getting one thing when the listing says another. If you look at my negative feedbacks you'll see 90% of the neg's are left by people with less than 10 or 15 feedbacks. The last 10% are folks that think your a Wal-Mart or some big box company that should never make a mistake and then NEVER CONTACT YOU so you can make it right.
And then there are some that DO KNOW I can't leave a neg. or nuet. that have attempted to use that fact as a blackmail tactic in order to get a better price. Or free items.
Having said all of that. LOL I'll go ahead and leave feedback for you. Thanks for understanding. And thanks for the opportunity to serve you.
Greg
And here's the ironic part.....7 or 8 times out of 10 I get the "I DIDN'T KNOW THAT" reply.
And the other ironic pafrt it's requested 100% of the time from people who already have a 100% rating. LMAO

And here's another dreamer!!
Go ahead and call EBay. here's what yiur going to hear. "We don't do that unless it violates Ebay policy."
and
"You'll need to contact the buyer and ask them to change it"
Been ther and done that a dozen times over the last 17 years.
@rockbottomvalues wrote:CALL EBAY AND ASK THEM TO REMOVE THAT NEGATIVE FEEDBACK YOU HAVE. A TRUE NEGATIVE WOULDN'T SAY "GREAT SELLER." UNLESS THE BUYER IS TWISTED IN THE MIND. THE BUYER CLEARLY MADE AN ERROR.

"a WORTHLESS tool that NEEDS to be ABOLISHED !!!"
That's about the smartest thing you've said in this thread. If it doesn't work the same for BOTH the seller and the buyer than it isn't a fair system. But I doubt the CRAYON EATERS here at EBay will ever come to thier LIBERAL senses.

Nothing irritates me more as a buyer than sellers who solicite feedback. I'll leave feedback when I'm darn good and ready to, which is usually about once a month. If a seller leaves me multiple requests for feedback, they are likely to get it! And although I won't leave DSR to intentionally mess with a seller that fullfilled my needs, ie. good product, reasonable shipping time & price, I might leave a comment that simply says "feedback".
Also, as a buyer, if I received "negative" feedback, which thankfully not an option, I would certainly not shop with that seller ever. If a buyer pays, they get positive feedback. That's it. This is not a popularity contest.

i like feedback as a seller it tells me that the item has arrived

@philipllwyvern wrote:i like feedback as a seller it tells me that the item has arrived
It's also the only way to keep score sometimes.
I'd presume that many ebayers still use feedback to check out their buyers or their sellers.
Feedback might not be requried, OR it might be voluntary, But sellers (Me) use it often to get a feel
for what kind of buyer or seller I'm possibly going to be dealing with.
If a buyer leaves a large % of Negs, I want to know that fact in advance. Same with a seller. If he's getting hit with bad feedback, I want to know about it.
