Sold an item this morning, on Seller Hub-Tasks it says " print shipping label" so I packaged item, printed the label and put it out for the mail, it was picked up. This afternoon I logged into Paypal to transfer the money to my bank. There was no money there. It showed payment had been refunded. I never got any notification from Ebay about the sale being cancelled or anything. I called Paypal first, they said nobody from there did it, it must have been done on Ebays end. So I called Ebay and talked to a person who wasn't very fluent in English, first they told me that my money was being held because I didn't have 72 orders yet, ( I'm serious, that's what she said!) So I asked her why all of a sudden hold my money when they've never done it on any of my other transactions. She says hold on for 2 minutes. OK. Then she comes back and said the buyer evidently contacted Paypal for the refund without going through Ebay and I should contact the buyer to see if they will pay since the item has already been shipped. I know Ebay sends an email to the buyer when a shipping label has been printed. It was an international sale to Canada if that makes any diference. Any suggestions on how I should handle this?

Call PayPal.

I called them first, they said it wasn't done from their end.

I think ebay is the place you need to call. Ebay can tell you exactly what’s going on with the transaction. I don’t think PayPal would issue a refund on an item sold on eBay just that day.... at least not without sending you some kind of communication. Are you sure the money is not just being held by PayPal?

Call your local post office, see if they can help you locate and hold the package to be returned to you.

Try to intercept the package at USPS online to have it returned. There is a fee. Maybe like $12.75 if they catch it and send it back to you.

Probably purchased with stolen credit card. They target same day shippers purchase early in the morning in hopes it gets in the mail before the paypal stolen card surf. Everythings wiped clean and transaction never occured...

Would it do any good to contact them and ask them to ship it back? You can pay for a label so they have no excuse. If they dont or wont, go to ebay resolution center. Your sale is documented as well as the payment, refund from paypal. If they keep it perhaps they will step in and take the payment from their account.

eBay can not/will not take money from a buyer.

If it was an unauthorized use of credit card issue with PP, and they did not catch this ,even though it told you in the Ebay interface that is was paid--IT IS a PP problem. They need to refund the money back to you. Call them again.

What did the PP rep tell you was the problem? Please be specific?

You said they put the money on hold, if they did you should not have gotten an ok to ship icon on your Ebay interface. Did the rep says anything about that?
