Did you mean:

Auctions have bids, but ZERO views

Yes, the title is correct. All of my auctions right now have bids and zero views.

I know that Ebay updated how views are counted - over a 30 day period now - so this is not going to be one of those threads where the creator is clueless to the updated views situation.

This issue of showing views incorrectly seems like a very big problem because there is no way that an item can have bids, but zero views. This brings up a new question: If auction views are showing up incorrectly, are our buy-it-now listings also showing incorrect views?

If you are a seller, this should concern you because having correct views are important to understanding what listings are popular, what items to sell, and at what price points to list them. We NEED accurate views. EBAY FIX THIS!

Is anyone else having problems after the "30 day views" update from mid May?

Re: Auctions have bids, but ZERO views

Views don't mean anything.  They aren't sales.  I "view" stuff all the time that I have absolutely no intention of actually buying.

Re: Auctions have bids, but ZERO views

Yes there are ways your items can have bids an no views. If your bidder is using any sort of third party bidding software or website then it won't show as a view. One big one is Shop Airlines / sekaimon, if your customer is actually looking at your item and buying / bidding on a site like that then it will never show a view from that activity.

Re: Auctions have bids, but ZERO views

I have 5 listings on auction right now and they all have different bidders. It is highly unlikely that all of those bidders are from Japan using the proxy Sekaimon.

Since posting on here, I still have zero views on my auctions which have bids and quite a few watchers.

Thank you for the reply. I appreciate the thought, even though that reason is not the solution in this case.

Re: Auctions have bids, but ZERO views

Yes, I agree. Something is up with the website. I have made a sale Buy it Now and it has zero views. Not sure how that can happen unless something is broken. I guess it can help my sales conversion rate.

Re: Auctions have bids, but ZERO views

Since Views are a nice way of encouraging sellers, but have no other use, I would imagine that having them up to the minute would not be any sort of priority.

So an item being bid on and sold and the views showing up days later could be the result.

Viewers view.

Buyers buy.

The more viewers you have, the more people have decided NOT to buy your item.

Re: Auctions have bids, but ZERO views

This has happened with me over the last couple of days.  I asked about it in another post but was made to feel like I was silly for being concerned about it.    I didn't understand how I could have a bid and no views and watches and no views.   I've been a buyer on Ebay for a long time and I've never watched or bid on something that I didn't open up to see the details first.    I just recently started selling so all of this is new to me.    I think knowing the views are important.  It at least it lets you know that something made them look even if they didn't buy.

Re: Auctions have bids, but ZERO views

There absolutely HAS been a glitch for about 48 hours. Click on the number and you'll see what the item's views really are.

Thank you for posting this!  I knew something wasn't right.   I just checked and yes, there are quite of few views showing up as zero.

Re: Auctions have bids, but ZERO views

Thank you for replying! Sorry to hear you have been having trouble also. I agree on your perspective about views as well. If views were not important, then Ebay would not have them as a feature.

Re: Auctions have bids, but ZERO views

Wow, thanks for doing that extra leg work! Hopefully Ebay knows this is a problem currently and is trying to fix it. I'll have to check out to see if what you did works for me. Thanks!

Re: Auctions have bids, but ZERO views

I made a whole post about it this morning but it just slid down the page without many people seeing it.  If you're feeling thankful for the info, would you mind finding it (should be toward the bottom of the first page or maybe the second by now, and title is "YES there is a glitch...." or something like that), and make a reply to bump it to the top?  Now that it's prime time I bet there will be lots more people posting on here about no new views, and repliers telling them "you can get watchers without views" over and over and over and over. LOL.

Re: Auctions have bids, but ZERO views

What’s the problem that needs to be solved?

Items have bids. Isn’t that a good thing?

The fact items can receive bids without eBay showing it was viewed, tells me not to put too much value on the view counter.

Re: Auctions have bids, but ZERO views

I  have the same thing (not bids), but I have many items with Watchers, but zero views (yes, on the same item.....watchers but no views on an item).

How can this even be possible? It makes no sense.

Can anyone possibly explain this?
